My mid-century modest house is 75 years old this year.
The house is not very interesting. It is, however, resilient, low-maintenance, and pro-oxford comma.

I am the mother of two dogs, so I don't ever have to worry about them reading this.
I am in the phase of motherhood where I regret my decisions.
Later in the episode: "Wear your helmet, kids."
Edit: grammar
And then I realized I am watching season two of the show, and I haven't watched season one yet. So we start over.
I am watching The Pitt for the first time. Where is Dr. Noah's helmet while he's riding a motorcycle in the opening scene?! I heard this show might make me anxious, but from GO? What disregard for basic safety measures will follow?
It is a time for being pissed to the nth degree.
May any conversation about whether or not a woman can be elected be made taboo, passé, irrelevant, boring even. Amen.

I don't even have a Ring camera and I am taking my doorbell camera down.
My former coworker's brother was taken this week. Please share and donate as you are able.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”
That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.
Until every taqueria is open and partying without fear of ICE, I'm not letting off the gas
Come together for what? Progress towards what? I’m genuinely asking. The federal government is murdering Minnesotans and disappearing our neighbors. So if any of these CEO’s want to explain to me personally what I — as a state leader — should ask the federal government for, I’m available.
"They say they're coming to save us from some evil? They're talking about our neighbors who take care of us ... Alex was murdered while he was helping. Mr Rogers said look for the helpers, & right now the helpers have a target on our forehead ... Mr Rogers would be here right now too, so I'm here."
This morning, federal immigration agents publicly executed an observer at 26th and Nicollet Ave South. Observers are out in the community because they care about our immigrant neighbors. They do this out of love and helping keep families together. 1/
This guy speaks for all of us in Minneapolis.
Jack Smith: "My fear is that we have seen the rule of law function in our country for so long that many of us have come to take it for granted. The rule of law is not self-executing. It depends on our collective commitment to apply it."
hey, y'all. my name is madi and i'm a reporter for the minnesota reformer. i cover the trump administration's impact on minnesotans, which means i've been out on the streets covering ICE in the twin cities. let me walk you through how we got here:
It's Day 50 of the ICE occupation of MSP.
Today at a presser, the head of the Border Patrol said "The groups are a bit better organized. They’ve got some excellent communications…and it makes it difficult to operate here at times.”
Keep making it difficult for them. Blow those whistles!
Lisa Demuth: The behavior we saw over the weekend with protestors disrupting church services over suspicion of political differences, is absolutely unacceptable. Every leader should condemn this blatant attempt to stifle freedom of speech and religion. Peaceful protest is a part of the foundation of our country -- shutting down a house of worship because you disagree with one of its leaders is not.
Shelisa Demuth: hey mom. let me remind you that your right to work and vote and marry the man you love as a Black woman was thanks to protests a lot like this one. and now look at the power you hold. it's only because of the dissent of those who came before you. injustice to anyone is injustice to everyone. you should be outraged. it's not supposed to be comfortable to challenge systems and make change. at least now you're paying attention.
Minnesota's Republican House Speaker Lisa Demuth made a Facebook post critical of an anti-ICE protest at a church, and got ratioed by her own daughter in the comments www.facebook.com/LisaforMN/po...
I spoke to a friend on the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota board. They need financial donations to keep up with the heightened demand for their services: www.ilcm.org
ILCM is a nonprofit that provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in MN & ND

Can you help us support 3 different families whose lives have been changed due to immigration enforcement? This money will help them catch up on utilities and rent. Most importantly, it will keep their children safe, secure, and prevent them from losing their homes.

According to the metric system, MNtans are even tougher than you probably realize.
Also, Napolean's invasion of Russia has come up repeatedly in conversations the past several days. That means it's cold here but we're resolved to do the right thing.
