Hey @timeextension.com, wonder if you, or any of your UK readers, have any recommendations on box protectors?
I used to get mine from mygamevaultuk on ebay, which were excellent, but they've now stopped selling (I hope they're okay!).
MGV ones were definitely the highest quality I've encountered.
I think most outside the US don't know more than about three people in the US government, let alone the Head of the Dept. for Education.
We all know her as the WWE Linda McMahon.
Couldn't agree less, I'm afraid.
When the console came out, the draw was that it could produce SNES-level experiences in a handheld. I used to sell these (yes, I'm old) and a lot of people were, understandably, excited by that, and a big reason it sold so well, and was so successful.
21.00 FILM; THE KING AND H Musical prequel where the ruler of Siam attempts to modernise his country by hiring the cheery blonde chap form Steps. But will it result in Tragedy?
Yes, all new CEEFAUXs this week. Get them while they are hot.
#AmWriting update: I've only gone and bloody done it, haven't it?
142,381 words and 2ยฝ years, and the first draft of Legacy of the Gods is DONE!
I still need to write the prologue, but ~ ๐ฒ๐ฝ ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ผ ~

Castle of Illusion - definitely one of 'em.
Gets a playthrough every once in a while.
22.00 FILM: SNICKERS MAN Updated remake of the 1976 Dustin Hoffman thriller.
There are people on this site too young to get this. Not you lot of course, you're all fine.
A window display scoreboard from the local stages of the Blockbuster Video World Game Championship in 1994, showing the final top 10 scorers in both the Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo competitions. This was from the Basildon branch in Essex, UK.
I wouldn't say it's my most prized, but it is unique...
I have the scoreboard from my local Blockbuster used during the Blockbuster Video World Game Championship 1994.
I placed 10th in the Mega Drive competition, playing NBA Jam, Sonic 3 and Virtua Racing (I was 9!).

Let's just hope it's not digital-only - same as I hope Sony don't leave Sons of Sparta as a digital-only title.
Thanks, I saw that, but this really deserves a physical release.
Please tell me it's not digital-only?
For what's it's worth, I wasn't arguing for or against anything.
This was a response to the calls to "ban kids" when the only way to do that is via ID checks.
Whether it's a good or bad idea, and whether the method of doing it is sound, are entirely different discussions.
For what it's worth, there are methods of doing this kind of data exchange (for verification) without compromising security. Identification is a different matter, however, and is far too splintered a thing to have one global solution. Hence the need for these third parties, like the one Discord use.
I'm in the UK, so I don't have explicit knowledge of how this works, but I assume this is just age verification, which it's not the same as identification.
Now, if they want to do this, I'm all for it, but applying this globally requires effort from all countries to create the same systems.
I don't disagree with you - we should protect our data far more than we do, as a society.
Nice idea, but that punishes new users. They'd have to wait 18 years to get full access (although the TOS assumption is somewhat feasible - if a bit loose - but could reduce it drastically). Linking another account would be good if they did ID checks. Haven't Epic been doing this with their checks?
Out of interest, what are you thinking they could do? It's always some sort of ID check, even if you have to make a small charge to a credit card, for example, as PayPal do (or used to do? I'm old, I did it about 25 years ago, lol).
I was responding to people who don't want ID checks, but also say "just ban kids"; you can't do that without ID checks.
The merits of doing this are a different topic entirely.

Although on your point, I'd say it minimises some problems, but not all, as you say. That's just not feasible.
Bear in mind that Discord is global. I'm in the UK, and data protection rules are different around the world, even for American companies working with foreign users.
But yeah, still doesn't mean throw your information around like confetti to any old website!
Again, the question is HOW would you know their age without an identity check of some sort?
That IS the method you'd need.
Whichever way they could go (mixed or adults-only), the only way to do it is via ID checks. It's that simple.
Reading the replies to this and the original post, I'd love to see Venn diagrams of people's opinions for/against, and whether they have kids or not.
That's no judgement on anyone, opinions are opinions, but I bet it makes for interesting reading.
Yes, I read that. Really doesn't bode well for their roll-out of this.
Sadly, you're right. This is the reality of it. If governments worked together to create platforms that allowed safe verification of identity, against data they already hold for you, securely (I hope, lol) then we might not have the issues of security and distrust.
Just a question, don't be a cunt.
Same here - although I don't care if it's there or not. I'm not really pro or against (probably leaning more "pro", if I'm honest).
My original point was about people saying "just ban the kids", whilst also not wanting the only way to ban kids from the platform.
You don't, if their terms and conditions allow that (I don't know if they do tbh), and you agree to them, that is. If they don't, data protection rules would govern what they can and can't do.
If you don't like those rules, you're free to use Discord in "teen-mode" or not use it at all.
I'm not "buying into anything", thanks.
My question to you is, how would you ban children without ID checks? They're doing what you suggested, after all.
Oh, absolutely no doubt that whilst the concept is sound, the implementation and execution have to be rock-solid. I understand the issues people have with security, and there's no way I'd be doing a face scan!
