Shameless plug for the newsletter, if you want great vacations for good causes.
Bidtreat.com
Give him a follow – this guy has been crushing it, also bought the moon/mars in @levels flight sim game.
Huge shoutout to Lewis who scored 7 nights in a Bali Villa with:
- 5 bedrooms
- Full staff (villa manager, housekeepers, security guard)
- Personal driver on call, including airport pickup
- 1 balling night with private chef, musicians, and dancers at the villa
First official Bidtreat winner!
Every week I share incredible travel deals that are only available at charity auctions.
This week we had our first big winner.
I want to be a world-class software creator.
Building products that make people think "Damn, can't believe this exists."
That only comes from building thousands of websites, apps, and automations.
So when I get an idea, I fire up Cursor and build.
One rep closer to greatness :)
Redesigned Hacker News in 45 mins.
It's a legit site using their API.
Will anyone use it? Probably not.
But these small projects are "putting in the reps."
Probably put hundreds of hours into this game haha
Vibe coding 101:
- listen to chill hop
- download cursor
- prompt
Who else remembers this game?
Problem is the Fireworks keeps failing to deploy. No logs, no extra details.
Anyone know the fix?
Deepseeks servers are always busy...went down the rabbit hole of hosting my own instance.
Seem like a smart way to stay productive. Usage limits keep hitting while in flow states.
So here's the setup.
1) Local chat UI w/ @OpenWebUI
2) Hosted model via @FireworksAI_HQ
Warning to indiehackers! @asmartbear.com
Sharing it with a small group of people first on calls
It’s in the creator / charity space. So if that’s interested drop a reply :)
Heck ya! Were you self-taught as a developer?
Finishing a prototype and getting feedback
My definition of AGI:
LLMs replacing teachers.
I struggle with when to launch new products vs. scaling old ones.
It’s easy to think, “My other idea has more potential.”
Then I’ll build it. And learn its harder than expected.
I always hear, “Keep launching.”
But when do you stop?
My best Cursor tips:
- modern stack (nextjs, tailwind, ts)
- claude for complex designs
- cursor small for quick fixes
- don’t trust its file structure
- make requirements
- refactor often
- use chat
By the way, a list of charities (I’ve found) with a strong local presences helping victims of the California fires.
lafoodbank.org
wck.org
pasadenahumane.org
habitatla.org
supportlafd.org
Anyone built “in app” donations for charitable causes?
Had an idea that would raise lots of money.
Fundraising pages for creators.
Gamified with:
- campaign progress bar
- top donations
- recent donations
Can’t find a solution to get the funds to charities in an effective / compliant way.
Things I say to AI and not people:
“Do it better”
“If this is wrong I’ll fire you”
“Don’t waste my time”
“If you make anything up I’ll turn you off”
If you’re making $0 and paying for marketing software…you’re doing it wrong.
Everything always goes wrong. You just need a couple things to go right.
Solopreneur Life:
The first, (AI products) will be the most cut throat competitive globally market.
The second (old product w/AI) will be where small teams of bootstrappers and indiehackers get rich.
