This is my 7 year old flemish giant. Her name is Harvie. She loves to snuggle and groom me. She is a sassy sweetheart.

Bunny snuggles are top tier.

Sarcasm aside, setting boundaries and expectations with your step kids is important. Is it going to be easy? Not always. Will you possibly be the evil step parent for holding your kids accountable? Yes. Will you deal with serious behaviors and possibly be punished for the sins of their bioparent.. also, yes. Just remember - You are not responsible for how the stepchildren came to you. It is not your fault for how they are. So don't beat yourself up for things that were not even in your control. All you can do is show up, stand firm on your boundaries, and do your best.

Being a step parent is not easy.
Sarcasm aside- you're not a bastard for wanting your step kids to turn out to be genuinely good people who will join society one day.
