PHIZI is such a uniquely talented youtuber. It's really hard to put in word while I love his style of narrating so much, maybe the way he write his script or the way his talk?
Check out this list, I already played probably half of these games and loved them.

Want find out where/how people talk about your app in bluesky?

There you go π.
After some digging, here are a couple thing I found out
1. Network latency between vercel and my db is not that bad
2. Bottle-neck is in my query
Same query for handle: mcuban.bsky.social
- Vercel -> Hetzner: 600 ms
- Hetzner -> Hetzner: 540ms
- Local - Local: 250ms
That's a really good point.
I'll give it a try π€.
Thanks Matt.
Haha. Thanks Seth!
The fact is the Vercel one is still free for me.
I still have to pay for the VPS anyway, because I host my db there.
But it's definitely an option, if Vercel gonna charge me in the future.
Interesting. Thanks Leo.
Probably the network latency between Vercel and Hetzner (db) is not that bad.
My Hetzner instance in US, so probably network latency is not as big a deal as I thought.
Thanks Navin.
Yeah that what I think should happen, since I check CPU and RAM utilization on my VPS, doesn't seem to be bottle neck and hetzner network is pretty fast.
So i kinda expect to see improvement on the profile page.
Let's me know which one is faster and your idea why it is and isn't?
whichpack.com vs beta.whichpack.com
(see first post for more details)
#nextjs #dev #buildinpublic
But from my own testing (just using normal browser to browse)
The improvement if any is negligible.
I thought by moving both web app and db into same machine, latency between the 2 component will improve the load time significantly.
I see that very clear on my local machine.π
Which is one faster for you?
whichpack.com or beta.whichpack.com
1) whichpack.com is Hosted in Vercel
2) beta.whichpack.com is Hosted entirely on Hetzner on $5 vps
Please help me test it.
I thought beta will be faster since the web app is closer to the db (also host on the same instance)? But π
Pro tips: Free "Work Email" with your personal GMail βοΈ
When register for SaaS, eg BetterStack they require you to have "Work" email.
Here is how to do that for Free:
Transfer your domain to CloudFlare
Setup Email Routing to forward email sent to your own domain to your personal gmail
Profit!
Yup. That them
That really performant π€―. I guess you can scale it down even more?
Really nice! Just wondering, how much on-going devops and maintanance works involves?
How much do you pay for your beefy instance? And how much maintenance work involved? π
Migrated my db server from Neon (19$/month) to a VPS running on Hetzner ($5) month.
Data migration is done and not that difficult.
Server load is pretty good. Let's see how it goes when more users visit whichpack.com
#buildinpublic #dev
Hehe. Not gonna use it for coding yet. Itβs for dev ops stuff and some light text editing π.
Ooohh. Really nice Xmas gift π! What the specs, tell us!
