Tax cuts for the rich are a policy choice. Cutting the social safety net in exchange for them is a policy choice.
States like New York have an opportunity to help undo this trickle down nonsense by raising taxes on the rich (who will still be rich).
I hope Gov. Hochul does.

Viola spotted this lil beauty of a ruffed grouse from her lookout window. Nobody can go by without Viola knowing.
Snow clearing equipment is a common spring sight in Fairbanks. Oak, of course, has to supervise.
Our mailbox held together with bungee cords. This is yet another common sight in Fairbanks in springtime. It’s quite uncommon that they make it through snowplow season unscathed.
