@nu-policyschool.bsky.social Prof. @laurakuhl.bsky.social and PhD candidate @istiakhahmed.bsky.social were part of the independent evaluation team for the World Bank's Pilot Program on Climate Resilience (PPCR), which analyzed a $935 million portfolio spanning 64 projects across 18 countries.

@nu-policyschool.bsky.social Prof. @laurakuhl.bsky.social is using Photovoice so that residents in Puerto Rico, W. Virginia & MA can capturing their energy challenges & visions through photography. Photo exhibits already launched in PR & WV, with more coming to East Boston/Chelsea this Fall.
For over a century, Puerto Rico has existed in a legal and economic limbo with the U.S., with limited political representation and funding. Policy and international affairs expert @laurakuhl.bsky.social points to its colonial relationship. Read more at @reason.org.

Come join us to discuss adaptation goals and indicators across scales
A pleasure to speak with @mongabay.bsky.social about this important study on involuntary immobility. Raised many questions for loss and damage funding for me
Would love to follow if you create this (or find that someone has)
Thank you Eduardo Lugo @decolonialcoqui8.bsky.social for all the work you do to elevate community voices!
This draws on photovoice workshops and focus groups with communities in Puerto Rico and reminds us how central energy is to people’s lives
Ensuring community voices remain at the center of conversations about energy transitions will be even harder now but so important. Sharing an opinion piece by our community partner based on our collaborative work in Puerto Rico www.elnuevodia.com/opinion/punt...
COP29 will be the Finance COP. But does our science undermine financial flows to adaptation? When we talk about maladaptation and that indicators of adaptation success don't work, we risk hurting the most vulnerable people.
New perspective from me and Aditi Mukherji today in Science
Would love to join- great list!
Thinking a lot about what is going to happen with energy infrastructure in the coming years and implications for just transitions
Happy to contribute to dispelling hurricane conspiracy theories www.logicallyfacts.com/en/article/c...

Thrilled to have contributed to this important project. In our chapter we explore how the experience of #ClimateColoniality and Hurricane Maria shaped visions of energy futures in #PuertoRico
@jamieshinn.bsky.social and I share reflections on lessons from the Mountain Valley Pipeline for just transitions, drawing on our research with impacted communities- would love your thoughts thebulletin.org/2024/09/what...
Since I haven't seen one yet, here's a starter pack of scientists actively working in the climate adaptation and resilience space, including researchers as well as climate service providers! 🌎🧪

We could have the best climate science in the world: but without action, solutions won’t happen; and solutions won't help, if they don’t make the world a better place.
That's why my new starter pack features 101 experts in climate policy, law, economics, strategy--and justice.

New research from CSSN scholar @laurakuhl.bsky.social et al: "Fossil fuel interests in Puerto Rico: Perceptions of incumbent power and discourses of delay." Read it here: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
While COP28 headlines may be focused on fossil fuels, without climate finance, developing countries will continue to bear the costs of energy transitions, adaptation and loss and damage.
A pleasure to share reflections with @npr.org

"climate loss-and-damage funding must be quick and easy for anyone to access — not just governments, but also cities and community groups."
We hope in a small way, this paper contributes to the legacy our our esteemed colleague and mentor Prof. Saleem Huq
With the approval of the Loss and Damage Fund at #cop28 today, resharing our paper out last week in Nature on lessons from the Green Climate Fund. While the establishment of the Fund is an important step for climate justice, so much more is needed to ensure money reaches those who need it quickly.
As country delegations pile into Dubai’s expo city for cop28, loss and damage will be on everyone’s mind. This short article should be required reading for anyone in a position of decision-making authority around the loss and damage fund. It’s clear, concise and spot on in every aspect
