Doing the lord’s work
Thought Aadam Jacobs might have the show, but only later Superchunk and no Seaweed.

Down a rabbit hole on this. Saw Superchunk at least 2x but not with Seaweed. One at the amazing MBV, Dinosaur Jr show (you were there?) one w/Bettie Serveert (now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time) & Gastr. Looks like it was 1995 which would’ve been between my 2 tours of duty in Hyde Park

The new version has stronger analytic characterizations, including a complete and self-contained convergence proof. (It's long but instructive, I think).

Building on fold bifurcations, I introduce fold remnants, the residue of equilibria that vanish under a bifurcation. Ex: increasing returns not quite strong enough for multiplicity. Models with a unique equilibrum and a fold remnant can behave like multiple equilibria. (2/3)
"Equilibria, Folds, and Escapes" Revised paper with new title, new analytic results, and 70% longer (mostly appendix, text is ~10% longer). I characterize both the mean path of stochastic models and the most likely large deviations via deterministic differential equations. (1/3)
No more boring title slides
Surlely one of the best openings for an academic book.
This has been a fun one to write.
Draft coming soon.
Never realized how much the opening of “Up the Beach” sounds like this opening

The program is now available for the Miami Macro 2026 conference on April 24. We receieved a LOT of submissions, so had to exclude many interesting papers but were able to put together an excellent program. Contact me directly if you'd like to attend. www.noahwilliams.org/conferences/...
My calendar event raised some questions.
(Should have included the accent on the u)
I should say, especially at an R1 research university
Not a combination typically seen in faculty listings
Bank runs, but for airport security
I get that, but more common is the nominative (College of Saint Whoever) than the possessive case
The royal possessives I understand, as they were likely involved. But I don’t think St John had anything to do with founding a college in New York
