Sketching always leaves me more refreshed and centered. Did you have any creating adventures (big or small!) this weekend?

Supplies used: my Folio Palette, Hahnemühle 100% Cotton Sketchbook, Rosemary & Co R13 Travel Brush, all tucked inside my A5 Art Toolkit.

I headed out for a little breakfast and sketching date in Port Gamble on Saturday. After a delicious bite to eat at Butcher & Baker, I found a spot on a picnic table to sketch. I loosely sketched a little house and the view over the water, alternating between pages as paint dried.

Ha! Cleaning out my studio, I had no idea I had so many palettes! Seems the add up after tinkering with them for 15+ years! 😆#arttoolkit

Thank you to Anna Brones for joining and taking some photos!

For next steps, I’ll be working in my studio to develop a narrative around my art and a plan for exhibit. I’ll be sharing more of my sketches soon. Stay tuned, and thank you for your support!

My Washington State Ferry Artist-in-Residency wrapped up on Sunday! I had so much fun; everyone was incredibly friendly and gracious. It was a joy to be on board and learning more about the WA State Ferry vessels, crew, and passengers. On Sunday, I gave a little sketching demo.

Prepping paper for my residency on the Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry starting tomorrow.

I prefer to tear down large sheets and plan to prep plenty of extra.

Line graph time series of 2025's daily Arctic sea ice extent compared to decadal averages from the 1980s to the 2010s. Thin white lines are also shown for each year from 2000 to 2024. 2025 is shown with a thick gold line. There is a long-term decreasing trend in ice extent for every day of the year shown on this graph between July and October by looking at the decadal average line positions.
