Happy to hear that Lukas Dhont's newest film 'Coward' will be in the official competition selection at the festival in Cannes. I haven't seen it yet but had the honour of working with the production as a language consultant. The script alone was riveting, I'm certain the film will be superb.

Postcolonial studies, gender studies and similar disciplines provide very precise terms and tools to expose and dissect those made-up scandals of politicians not being black enough, athletes not being female enough etc. Which is why we need them, and why the reactionary and far-right fears them.
There is no "science-wide replication crisis" because every word in that phrase carries unfounded assumptions. 🧵

In Europe, the #farright 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀 the #immigration issue. Yet, following a knife attack, the leader of the centre-right #CDU has decided to go 'all-in' (his actual words) on immigration. But even after days of relentless coverage, international security & the economy 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 top the electorate's agenda.
Nach jeder Woche, in der andere Parteien eine weitere AfD-taugliche Idee in den Wahlkampf pusten (ausbürgern, abschieben, Grenze zu, Leistungen runter, Arbeitszwang), steigt der Balken der AfD in den Umfragen.
Fast als gäbe es einen seit Jahren bekannten Zusammenhang, aus dem man lernen könnte.
