Probably that's what's going on w/ these streaming service login pages, too. But when I'm that situation I don't want to have to fuss about around; I just want it to work.
Idk; I may change my approach to that.
I keep my Firefox browser pretty locked down, so occasionally I'll encounter a page that won't open or that won't act right and I need to open it in a different browser. But that's me adding a bunch of privacy & security extensions, not Firefox.
I have Chrome set as the default browser on my phone, b/c some streaming services (Prime, Netflix, etc) send you to a page that won't load in Firefox (at least, not the way I have it configured) when you try to register a new device.
That's the only downside I've encountered.
I grew up in western Nebraska. The town where I graduated high school (Crawford) had a population of about 1200 - apparently, it's gotten smaller since then.

Setting aside for a moment whether or not it's true or what exactly it might mean if it were, it's definitely commonly *said* that OSR has a strong strain of anti-intellectualism. And I generally understand why people say that, and I know the people who say that aren't entirely fighting straw men.
Promote whatever you like, but it's not required to play.
