Not knowing what the worst people in the world were thinking every fucking day

Still curious to know what the "incident" that led to him being stopped some distance away was.
Once again "the death of the West" meant "the death of my secret bank account."
The funniest thing is all the painful LLM text slop tweets about it and the replies going "Whoa! Amazing analysis dude!"
So I spent 15 minutes down the rabbit hole on this. It is "real" in the sense that it is a disposable rosin vape people can buy. The company claims it's a "mining device" that earns crypto with every use. The market is very stupid people. But there are plenty of those in the crypto bro world.
Elon Musk: The woke mind virus is pushing Western Civilization toward cultural suicide.
Western Civilization:
Shane Jones is spouting some of the most vile racism I have heard in #nzpol and it's barely being reported on. Left bloc MPs have lost careers for far less.
NZ media has this strange presumption of evil that ultimately empowers our worst politicians.
Just as the impacts of climate change are really starting to bite, AoNZ as a nation is busy 'deprioritising' research funding into it. You can probably tell from some of the quotes how chill I'm feeling about this.
Need an evening distraction? Have a go at the AudioCulture Quiz :)
We've had a wide range of scores today - where did you land?
some of you are looksmaxxing when you need to be booksmaxxing
I did the AudioCulture quiz today. Starter:
Alan Jansson produced OMC’s ‘How Bizarre’ and Sisters Underground’s ‘In The Neighbourhood’ at his Uptown Studio. What was the electro band that gave him his first hit single?

Fair play. Just don't forget to use an oven glove when you eventually get the comfort food out.
yes we've all been frothing with the coup, meanwhile Mani Dunlop is out here reporting on this fuckery and what it means.

Checked in with my buddy in Melrose, who has a huge, steeply-sloping back yard held back from his actual house by an old retaining wall. He's watching that wall very closely ...
Focus man, focus!
An old pine tree has fallen across the road taking the power lines with it.
Wellington peeps, if you need one, this is your go home stay home warning.
I feel like self-identified American leftists are actually getting *worse* at this stuff.
If you’re looking for an example of technofascism this is it: Palantir’s manifesto.

The damaging events are on the right hand side of the graph. The right hand side of the graph is where we live now.
Here is a version for local use of the amount of officially declared States of Emergency for climate related reasons
True. And ours was in the context of the wettest winter on record followed by the wettest summer on record. The ground was fucked. But it was the sheer overwhelm of the peak rain that really did the damage.
Auckland Council's largest single expense *last year* was the $727m spent on buying out properties made uninhabitable in 2023. The cost of clean-up and resilience works has been more than $2bn, about half of which was covered by central govt. Wellington is in a worse place in more than one way.
Ugh. I remember that feeling. In 2023, we'd all tense up at the sound of heavy rain.
That's the same peak hourly rainfall as the Auckland Anniversary Weekend event in 2023. "Incomprehensible" is a good word for it. I hope things ease up for you all.
This guy really doesn't want to go through discovery. Or maybe he is actually that stupid.
To be fair, in this case the butcher was both misled and misquoted.
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
If I polled at 16 percent on Sunday night and knew the following morning I'd be grilled about it by Tova and John Campbell, I'd just quit. No hesitation

Update 2: Shit is getting WILD out there.
Possibly. It's one end of a street upgrade programme that's mostly in adjacent Point Chevalier. It was a difficult year in the building (and took a decade to get over the line before that) but the result is marvellous. The shops and hospo in Westmere are booming now.
