A Rivian R2 rolls off an assembly line with cheering employees alongside it.
Received this email from @rivianofficial.bsky.social and I'm so here for it. Fingers crossed that LIDAR models aren't TOO far behind.

I do not understand Leaflet. I want to understand Leaflet. Hence, therefore, hitherto, netherworlds notwithstanding, I am perplexified.
Okay. The @frame.work wireless touchpad keyboard is an instant buy for me. The perfect flexibility for a dozen different use cases. Good idea.
Okay. @frame.work 3:2 touchscreen. Finally. But I want all these pro updates on the 16". Then things get interesting.
Currently watching the @frame.work 2026 Launch event, and this is just such a fun and community focused company. Big fan.
Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
Most Americans know what it would take to fix our broken country
- Abolish Citizens United
- Outlaw foreign influence
- End the electoral college
- Tax the oligarchs
- Reestablish rule of law
- Strict separation of church & state
It’s whether we have the courage to change our self-destructive ways
Earthjustice is suing Trump's EPA for failing to fully implement the lifesaving national soot standard that is supposed to protect us from dangerous air pollution.
Doctors and scientists have made it overwhelmingly clear that soot pollution sickens and kills people.
Adam Savage and Jon Favreau talking Star Wars surrounded by props turns out to be my happy place. Not entirely surprising but joyful nonetheless. youtu.be/ijk4XMe7n_c?...
How do you pivot from 'sustainability as a business mantra' to the highly unsustainable world of AI compute? Seems like someone either sacrificed values or never had them to begin with. Also, I'm bitter, because Allbirds were SO comfy, even if they got dirty too fast. www.cnbc.com/2026/04/15/a...
This post is a reminder to myself that I haven't done anything worthy of filming on a GoPro since I stopped flying. Do NOT get excited about new GoPros. Or maybe it's time for an exciting new hobby...
Awhile back, I bought a Framework Desktop to use as a homelab server with the intention of one day installing a local LLM. Yesterday was that day. The gemma4:31b model runs surprisingly well. Still learning how to monitor and safeguard everything, but it's a fascinating experiment.
Huge.
I think it was @anneapplebaum.bsky.social 's 'Autocracy, Inc' that opened my eyes to the tactics of Viktor Orbán and his influence on the American Right. My heart and hopes are with Hungary today.
If you apply the "I'll know it when I see it" argument to the LiveNation Ticketmaster trial, they are undoubtedly a monopoly. Every ticket I've purchased the past ten years has been through them (or an aftermarket ticket originally purchased through them). www.theverge.com/policy/90919...
This house is amazing. Look at the huge desk and all that bookshelf space. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9M7...
I've spent the past two days playing with Home Assistant dashboards. It's fun and somewhat rewarding, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't qualify as accomplishing broader life goals.
Currently listening to this episode of The Vergecast from @theverge.com and getting really moved and motivated by the discussion with @anildash.com about open platforms and video. Highly recommend. On YouTube, of course... youtu.be/JLNShOwOaig?...
The Moon, backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse, is photographed by NASA’s Orion spacecraft on April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II mission. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars.
I really can't stop looking at this photo - We usually think of space as being entirely empty and dark, but our sun has a lot of dust around it, giving the moon this eerie backlit glow.
And four people really have been there and witnessed this yesterday, absolutely blows my mind! #Artemis 🔭🧪
The longer I spend watching YouTube, the more convinced I become that, when it comes to cable management, I'm the world's least skilled human.
You don't threaten to blow up a whole civilization as a bluff. The minute you retreat from that threat, you no longer have any threat grand enough to scare the opponent. He knows this. That's why he built an escape plan in with the "maybe something wonderful can happen" line.
Threatening war crimes and to destroy a whole civilization feels like the single greatest justification for impeachment in my lifetime. Doing it for engagement on your own social media site just makes it worse. Vile AND corrupt.
"History will judge-" let me stop you right fucking there, history doesn't do fucking shit, I'm a historian, let's be clear here: elected officials need to do their fucking jobs, right now, before it happens, or future historians will judge THEM. Everyone knows and knew who Trump was.
Ha. They just announced that both are now appearing in their window. So photos coming...
Has there yet been a photo taken from the far side of the moon with the earth in the background? I feel like that would be an epic shot. (I haven't been watching all the coverage today. Just tuning in.)
“They’re destroying more than fifty research facilities across thirty-one states, labs that house decades of irreplaceable long-term science…And they’re replacing all of it — the offices, the scientists, the institutional knowledge, the professional independence — with fifteen political appointees”
Trump advisers think the age of imperialism ended because of wokeness, not because 1) colonized peoples made colonialism untenable 2) technology made territorial empire unnecessary. They thought mere brutality and perceived genetic superiority would make wars against countries like Iran easy.
NASA just dropped this image of Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch looking back at us. The first woman to ever see our planet in its entirety. I’m not crying you’re crying 🥹🔭🧪 📸: NASA
