Here's a lovely photo of Dorble Dorble. He's a fabric art purple creature. He's purple with bulbous wide set eyes, a wide frown with sharp teeth, and two tentacles of different sizes. His longer tentacle is curled around his eye. His head is wider than his body. He's rather amorphous. There's a beautiful marbled paper in the background.
Here's another lovely photo of Dorble where he's resting on my palm.
Here's another lovely photo of Dorble with one tentacle curled upward and one curled downward.
Meet my newest fabric art creature: Dorble Dorble the Semi-Magnificent. I designed him, hand-sewed his eyelids and mouth, and I machine-sewed his outer edges. Dorble Dorble strives to become semi-magnificent in all things.

Hi all, I have an update from Joshua about some financial hardship he and his husband are going through. They need to raise at least $1200 to cover rent and medication costs. "In November of 2025, I had to leave my current job for critical health reasons, causing my disabled husband and I to have to survive off savings until January of 2026. My husband is on several medications he requires to live, which cost us between 750-900 a month out of pocket depending on which pharmacy has the best price. During that time, we went through most of our savings. In 2026 I began working at a new company but was laid off without pay beginning on February 19th. Now, I am beginning new employment on 5/13 but we are dangerously behind on utilities and rent and at risk of not being able to fill his medication before I begin my new job. Due to the loss of income over the winter and the depletion of our savings while unemployed, we need enough cash to pay utilities and purchase medication before new pay and benefits begin. 1200 dollars would allow us to catch back up with our back bills, keep his meds filled and let us get back on our feet in May."
Hi all,
I'm boosting my brother's crowdfund! He and his husband need to raise about $1200 to pay their rent and utilities for this upcoming month and to cover the costs of his husband's life-saving heart medications. They could really use the help!
I worry about the cherry and apple tree orchards in Michigan facing similar issues ๐
Fascinating article. Imagine a Florida without oranges.
Monopoly is the biggest risk to capitalism. Government needs to protect us from it.
Imagine making AI bird slop when Jacanas exist
If you see this, post something orange!
Hard agree
I feel like not enough reviewers know they had to remake the entire final third of the Michael Jackson movie because it falsely exonerated him, and it turned out the kidโs lawyer foresaw that shit in the 1990s and made sure to include a clause that the estate could never ever do that on film.

Seriously testing my "don't put other humans on a pedestal" ability.
May this man never be milk shake ducked
also worth remembering that ending a Lyme disease (borreliosis) vaccine was one of the first victories of the American anti-vaccination movement that's since captured the federal government.
Characters have to say lines like "This is the information superhighway we'll be taking." There is a fantastic 3d maze hacking scene (one of my fav 90s tropes).
It flies so close to true campy greatness but never quite reaches it.
Lawnmower Man 2 is such a bizarre film. Nothing in it makes sense. The set decoration is all over the place. There is Peter Pan style flying. For some reason a gaggle of kids with a cute mutt are main characters but also a gross hippie professor guy with the worst wig I've ever seen.
Drawing by Sawaki Takeyasu for the Okami 20th anniversary, featuring the Celestial Brush in a battle against Orochi
Sawaki Takeyasu, character design for the original Okami, also celebrates with all of us by making this absolutely stunning artwork!
an illustration of the character amaterasu from the videogame okami leaping up into the air with one paw above her head, she is a white wolf decorated with red swirls and a flaming shield on her back, she has a large smile on her face. on the tip of her nose is the character issun, a tiny sprite holding aloft a sword.
happy 20th anniversary, okami!!
I think Abdul El-Sayed was the only candidate in any race last night to specifically call for abolishing ICE during a stump speech at the Michigan Democratic Convention yesterday.
Amir Makled defeats UM Regent Jordan Acker to win the Michigan Democratic Party's endorsement for the University of Michigan's governing board in another win for the party's progressive wing. Incumbent Paul Brown won the party's other endorsement.
Congratulations to Eli Savit on winning the Michigan Democratic Party's endorsement for Attorney General!
Finally after 9 they announced Gilchrist won SoS and no runoff vote needed. What an exhausting day. Hope they can sort these issues out before the next convention so the voting isn't delayed and results come faster.
Sounds like they may have had issues with their election software and had to hand tabulate? No idea but that was extremely frustrating.
There ended up not being a second vote. They finally just after 9 announced Gilchrist won.
Doesn't help that all the food vendors closed before voting ended and the only food vending machines we found are cash only...and didn't take a ten.
Still waiting for the runoff vote at the Michigan Democratic Convention. How is this stuff not more automated? I can't imagine how long this could take if multiple races had runoffs or rounds of runoffs!
Y'all if we did ranked choice voting here we'd already be home.
SoS vote is going to a runoff.
Just heard there will be a second round of voting at the Democratic Convention in about 30 mins.
Gotcha! When I credentialed yesterday his table was empty. But there were a couple other empty tables at that time too so maybe they were there earlier in the day. That was around 230.
