Oui ! Ce sont des poids lourds culturels francophones, si on les mets en face de Marvel avec des récits alternatifs en phase avec l'époque, ça ferait du 'tain de soft power européen.

Hormis Vuillemin qui irrite un peu l'égo les blogueurs au début, je les trouve plutôt mesurés. Notamment Schuiten qui a bien compris les enjeux actuels, les dédicaces payantes, la place des autrices, etc...

c'est très bien que des franchises un peu "patrimoine" comme Lucky Luke puissent servir de canevas à des auteurs et des scénarios plus actuels. On devrait faire pareil avec Asterix.

As we stumble to the end of another incredibly difficult year for creative people in any medium, I just want to share one piece of advice that I genuinely think we should all be following no Matter what stage you're at professionally: Figure out what you love doing and do More of that. Just go all in on the things you're obsessed with. If you're going to struggle, do it for something you love.

It's a tension I've always experienced in my work: a desire for somewhat serious realism, for sober and neutral tones. When in fact, my natural inclination goes straight to color, to powerful vibration.

To inspire a watercolor I'm currently working on, I reopened an artbook of Andrew Wieth, of whom I've always been a huge fan. It's been a long time since I've looked at it, and I was shocked to see how monochromatic his work is.⤵️
