Romanian Court Forces State To Recognize Trans Man's Identity In Historic Ruling Arian Mirzarafie-Ahi, a trans man with dual Romanian-British citizenship, will receive a birth certificate reflecting his gender identity after a Bucharest court enforced a landmark 2024 EU ruling.

1. Incredible news out of Romania. An appeals court in the country has forced them to recognize the legal gender of a trans man.

It is the first known internal enforcement of a 2024 EU Court ruling.

Romania has ranked last by ILGA on LGBTQ+ rights in EU.
