I’m looking forward to reading it!
I have requested a copy at Crieff library. PKC could do with ordering more copies to support a local author.
And there’s a bridge joined on to the stone display!
Imagine if you will, the centre of a venn diagram comprising standing stones, model railways and Lego .

Never a day goes by when we are not grateful for the #ScottishOutdoorAccessCode which enables people to roam and enjoy Scotland's woods, trees and landscapes. Access to nature is crucial for physical & mental health. buff.ly/YKbrtc2 @guyshrubsole.bsky.social
The joy of stones! Hanging out with one of the Dunruchan stones a couple of years ago.

Strange stone in the St Fillan's churchyard near Dundurn Hill. People leave coins in the stone.

I have started recording local stones on Google Earth. Here's the stones that I have seen within a 15 km radius of Crieff.
We have three or four within a mile or so of our house and maybe 15 or more within 5 miles. We are well catered for in the Strathearn area. This one is almost directly across the valley from us and our small town is on the slopes of the hills in the background.
Here's a photo from 1967 on the Trove website which shows how the site looked before it was overgrown. The road can be seen curving away in the photo.
Great post Kenny! I was pleasantly surprised a couple of years ago when someone cleared away the brambles and opened the site up a little. There was a large stone flat on the ground that I had missed previously.
An Auchterarder standing stone in the sun today. You can almost see our house in the background!

Stunning solo piping set from Brighde Chaimbuel on Saturday night. Taking piping into the 21st century with her effects pedals.

Constant Follower at the Tolbooth in Stirling recently. One of the darkest light shows that I have seen. Brilliant music, bigger for photos!
Saw them recently in Stirling. A brilliant live act!
I saw Katherine playing last weekend and she was absolutely brilliant! What a voice!
I love Brighde Chaimbuel's piping! The latest tune sounds like something Terry Riley might create. 707 seconds of brilliance!

Hope wins over Hate!
“People need to hear a story like this now,” says Pinar Aksu. “We don’t always have a victory at the end of our stories but hope is all we have got.” Great piece on what sounds like a terrific, massively timely film that gives the lie to the notion that most communities see newcomers as a threat.
Fiddle-tastic evening at Stirling Tolbooth with Rant.
