"logic of Musk’s empire is total. X shapes the discourse. Grok automates it. Grokipedia rewrites the historical record. Starlink can deliver it all, everywhere, to everyone. Each layer reinforces the others. It’s not about winning arguments in the public sphere. It’s about building a replacement."
This painting, titled Dos Mujeres (Two Women) or Portrait of Two Women, was created by Mexican artist Diego Rivera in 1914. It is an important early work from Rivera in Paris, where he explored Cubism alongside Picasso and Braque.

Bluesky isn’t showing all

"There are some who say there's no need for a comprehensive plan. They believe we should wait it out in the hope that the United States will return to normal, that the good old days will come back, but hope isn't a plan, and nostalgia is not the strategy." Coastal hiking in Newfoundland, Canada is a treat for the eyes. Another view (last week) of the seaside cliffs near my hometown in Conception Bay North. #hiking #trail #ediacaran
“The U.S. has changed, and we must respond.” No hedging. No “our American friends.” Just a clean acknowledgement that the country on the other side of the border is not the country we thought we knew."

I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.
WE Pay for
Obama, Trump & Mamdani all understood this concept and won because of it. HRC & Kamala would have represented/manifested great change but their consultants undercut their prospects w/establishment, messaging. Biden represented real change economically. But his vibe & foreign policy was status quo.
Canadian PM @mark-carney.bsky.social: "Many of our former strengths, based on our close ties to America, have become our weaknesses, weaknesses that we must correct."
A stunning example of how dramatically the world has changed due to Trump, given how close Canada and the US were before.
and to go one level deeper - imo - it’s a fear that the way you live your life is a mix of choices and random circumstance, that there’s nothing natural or objectively correct about it. it’s not just that you’re afraid of other people having freedom - you’re afraid of recognizing your own freedom.

Heads up - It seems that this might have been a fake post.
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez: “Here in Spain, we are approving and advancing a process to regularise half a million immigrants.
“And I want to say to the Right and the Far Right who oppose this: Spain is the daughter of migration and will not become the mother of xenophobia.”
NEW: The IRGC appears to be controlling Iranian decision-making instead of Iranian political officials who are engaging with the United States in negotiations, particularly Foreign Affairs Minister Abbas Araghchi. (1/7)
It’s Schrodinger’s Strait of Hormuz.
Half the trapped tankers tried to exit the Strait of Hormuz in the last hours. The second video shows about half turning back.
Edit:Most of the tankers turned back. Strait of Hormuz - open or closed?

Oh Pierre, just stop already, we have work to do.
It should be mandatory for every Republican in Congress & the admin to write out one week of groceries for a family of 4 - everything they need - then drive to a grocery store and put each item in a cart, then pay for those items with their own money, then get a full tank of gas.
1 ‘There follows a public safety message from the Ministry of Taps.’ 2 [Show a moustachioed man in a white coat, standing next to a sink with two taps.] Hello. 3 Here are two beautiful, British taps. 4 Don’t they make you proud? Cold and hot, divided in modesty, as God intends! 5 But in recent years, more and more Britons are using ‘mixer taps’ - a highly addictive form of foreign tap. 6 The great British tradition of washing one’s hands via a weird sort of hot-to-cold dance is under threat. [Show someone doing this dance] 7 The 'mixer' is a gateway tap. One minute you're dabbling with a dual faucet. Next thing you know, you're 'dancing with the fisherman's hose'. [Show one of those big bendy fishmonger’s hoses that people have these days] 8 See here the brain of a healthy, two-tap using Briton: [Show diagram of a brain with two thirds of it devoted to ‘WASHING HANDS’] 9. And this... is the brain of a ‘mixhead’: [Show same brain diagram, but the Washing Hands section is replaced with ‘FOREIGN THOUGHTS’] Remember: Mixing can lead to foreignness and fishmongery. BRITONS: DON’T MIX YOUR TAPS [Ends]

"The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet a lifetime is often not enough to rebuild. They turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found." -Pope Leo XIV
