I fear a new fixation has struck
this album is near perfect, I'm so in awe of every little decision in each song

went to a salvage store earlier today and their CD selection had several k.d. lang and Barenaked Ladies CDs available. I felt like a tracker touching the forest floor. Somewhere nearby a Canadian has fallen and left behind a loot drop
omg yes, everything a growing sailor needs!
not to mention Ronkonkoma, a word I desperately need to hear Bugs Bunny say
every time I walk thru Penn Station, I think to myself, "what goes on in Speonk?"
is it "slop" or are you just able to find a lot of examples of one category of thing? Is it "slop" or do you just think it looks bad, which is also valid criticism?
much like how the suffixes "-core" and "-gate" get thrown around in cases where they have no reason existing, I fear the word "slop" is now being applied to way too many things, thus diluting the meaning and becoming at risk of becoming "slop"

I haven't touched LSDJ in literal years but I still listen to some songs and think "this would make for a sick chiptune cover"

I'm at the chapters (multiple, consecutive) of Moby Dick where Ishmael is just complaining that there's no good whale fanart in the world
A collection of Pokemon clamshell toys, featuring several different biomes
this was the original Pokopia
yet again up late thinking about Gordon, the debut album by Scarborough, Ontario band Barenaked Ladies
specifically thinking about how this is the song they chose next in the album track order after their (Canadian) radio hit ballad about gender roles

"doom metal falling block game" is my sleeper cell activation phrase
this game had me in a chokehold for all of MAGFest this year and you better believe I'm goin out of my way to make it to this and somehow still get back to Philly to sleep in my own bed
can't stop thinking about the colorful blocks
so far this is my fav stage in the game, but it's *really* hard to choose. I also love the bass boosted parrots, breakbeat birds, and Westworld robot hands, but Footwork Elevator has my heart rn (still learning the names sorry)

where Tetris effect feels like being stoned at an aquarium, playing Lumines Arise feels like when you're at a show with a DJ and they hit a song transition *so* perfectly in rhythm with the crowd's energy that it makes everyone go "OoOoOOoOHhHH!!!" and start jumpin around hugging each other
this was an obvious slam dunk for me, and I'm *so* late to it, but Lumines Arise is an absolute delight
with the little time I had this weekend to sit down and play a game, I boot it up thinking I'd play a few Journey Mode stages, and ended up finishing the entire thing in one sitting
at a bar that's playing the World Baseball Classic (??? did not know this existed). Right now it's Great Britain vs. USA. Britain's pitcher has a surprisingly American name - Miles Langhorne.
But then a fella by the name of GUNNAR HENDERSON went up to bat for the US
god that was cathartic

running a successful event feels a lot like shoveling snow
always kinda pretty to stand around in the middle of it, always relieved & satisfied when it's over, always know I gotta do it again very soon, and it's always easier when you have help. And my back always hurts after.
I can't say it's my fav but if you haven't read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, it's real good and I didn't shut up about it until at least 3 friends in my close circle Discord server read it

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie made me so homesick I just dumped $190 CAD into a 3 day pass for a metal festival in Toronto this summer
Very excited for my first Prepare the Ground
I can't stop thinking of the fucking back to back montage of cancelled public figures in 2008 with the Jian Ghomeshi billboard as the cherry on top
