Why Is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. So Convinced He’s Right? How an outsider, once ignored by the public-health establishment, became the most powerful man in science

1/ This is a devastatingly good article on RFK Jr by @michaelscherer.bsky.social. Even if you’re someone, like me, who has followed this arc and his devastating impact on public health, it’s a must read. Gift link: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

Newport, RI - “No Kings” rally! Great crowd, despite the rain. Lots of cars honking and giving us the thumbs up in support! Only a couple middle fingers and one trump flag that we saw!

The desire to “stay in power” which impacts senator’s decision making is the biggest reason to impose term limits. Not an original idea, I realize, but one that needs to be enacted.

Who’s going to charge him? The DOJ? The FBI?

I am afraid GOP Senators or House members of conscience just don’t exist. The GOP is broken.

My understanding is that Murkowski and Collins were “allowed” to vote “no” to save some credibility with their constituents, but the republicans have the votes without them to get his nomination through. Even if it should be a tie, then JD will vote “yes”. It’s all a deliberate performance.

This is exactly my understanding as well - it’s all just a performance.
