At the end of the day, generative AI is yet another tool, and most of the problems come with how people are willing to exploit it for self gain
Those same people would still probably be just as dishonest if generative AI was never a thing

(8) To me a lot of this screams unwillingness to look at the other side of the AI debate, to really look at multiple different perspectives. Maybe at least try to use some of these AI tools like ChatGPT or Grok before you bash them if you haven't yet,
(7) but again, SMWCentral does GIVE reasons to push people to using AI when they treat certain people like shit over topics that don't even have anything to do with SMW modding in the first place (again, I speak from experience)
(6) In BD's defense though, AI can't do EVERYTHING for you and is prone to making mistakes and the people in the SMW community would be more reliable in their answers and have more of an understanding as to why certain answers are right or wrong
(5) Only possibly though; as someone who's studied AI professionally, I understand how these models learn and operate, but also how they fail at things that humans just do better, and just by using some art generators/chatbots, I feel as if I can still be able to learn from them
(4) As someone who has had their name dragged through the mud over my difference in opinions, I would possibly have a better (or at least more convenient and timely) experience talking to a chatbot than a community that's more narrow minded than it wants to believe
(3) You can't realistically monitor everyone's off site interactions, and I find it rich that you mention that AI threatens to divide the community; you guys are already very capable of doing that yourselves by branding everyone who dares to have the wrong opinion fascist/bigoted
(2) while the intentions against AI generated content are grounded in good faith, how would you realistically enforce these rules? Sure there can be some staff who are savvy enough to spot AI content at a quick glance, but what about when users turn to Chat GPT for answers?
