I’ve said a lot of nice things about France over the years…
Forbes is gamifying news about the horrific mass shooting in Shreveport, LA this weekend, encouraging readers to bet on the likelihood of gun regulation with fake money via its "ForbesPredict" feature.
Eight children were murdered in the shooting.

Get ye behind me, Stancil!
Th Slaver’s Revolt of 1861 was a vile explosion of white supremacy, and Lee was a mediocre general who would have been replaced if the revolt was led by serious men and not spineless zeros like Jefferson Davis.
Once again need to remind everyone that the supposedly crime-infested hellhole of New York is one of the safest cities in the country in no small part because most people in the central area don’t drive. America has a much bigger car problem than a violent crime problem.
I follow a group on Facebook for people who are traveling to Europe (where I’ve lived) and I swear half the questions are Americans concerned about their safety. These are people with passports, going to Europe! I’ve repeatedly explained that, e.g., France has 1/6th the homicide rate of the US.
Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this dude before, but he is the living embodiment of Backpfeifengesicht.
I study racist politicians from the Jim Crow era and this is on par with anything that John Rankin, Theodore Bilbo, or Cotton Ed Smith ever said in public
We must use US taxpayer dollars to backstop the UAE
Which is facing economic problems caused by the war Trump started and doesn't know how to win
A war encouraged by leaders of the UAE
Who have given hundreds of millions in bribes to Trump, his family, and associates
God, I cannot express how much I love this.
The man sent by the regime to negotiate with Iran is on the payroll of the Saudis—an agent of a foreign government. It’s part of the worst corruption scandal in US history—the Trump family’s solicitation of foreign bribes—and should be mentioned every time Jared Kushner’s name appears in print.

I’d try the Bruno, Chief of Police series, a fun policier series set in a small town in the Perigord of southeastern France.
They paid it to a French oil company.
Solid case for wearing overalls.
“Here were produced rubbishy newspapers… films oozing with sex, and sentimental songs which were composed entirely by mechanical means on a special kind of kaleidoscope known as a versificator.”

Let’s get @dieworkwear.bsky.social to host it!
Kier Starmer-levels of disillusion going on here. In a parliamentary system everyone would be asking when he’s going to resign.
If you watch and share one thing today make at this. Why is every democrat in the country not talking like this?
I tried to watch Avengers Endgame about a month ago and man what an absolute slog of a movie. You need a diagram to follow all the stories, and they just aren’t worth it.
Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
My mom is buried at the Salt Lake City cemetery. It’s such a beautiful place.
What the what what?
He’s a disordered narcissist in a negative spiral, meaning he’s realized he can get what he wants (attention and validation) even more strongly by destroying things instead of building them. As he gets closer to death, he will do everything he can to leave his mark by wrecking everything he can.
Jon Ossoff is running for president.
Burro is what a traditional burrito is called in Tucson. They’re actually quite small though.
Sad to learn of the passing of Nathalie Baye. So memorable in La Balance, the film that got me hooked on stylish French policiers
