The political elite have responded devotedly to fossil fuel propaganda that Americans no longer care about climate change.
Actually, American concern about climate change is near record highs.
Pluralistic ignorance, in action: news.gallup.com/poll/708050/...

I genuinely think it plays a small but important role in shaping what people think exists and/or talk about
Stopping early adoption electrification: wrong.
Building up a rival manufacturer (Tesla) by trading tax credits with them: wrong.
Finally making EVs, but focusing on large trucks EV buyers hate: wrong.
Retreating from EVs just as prices reach parity: wrong.
An astonishing record of failure.
Few people have missed the boat on the climate transition as badly as US automakers. Every move they've made has been wrong, and now they're doomed. We should study the brains of their CEOs, for posterity.
Absolutely absurd that in the year 2026 there is no solar panel emoji OR wind turbine emoji
The pullback of climate funders from the US is going to be a long-term strategic disaster.
Really interesting tool tracking how different major chatbots talk about candidates for office, including what sources they draw on: caucus-ai.com
Texas' only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter is now languishing in a Raymondville detention center. She’s lived in America for 35 years: www.texasobserver.org/immigration-...

I met someone at a SXSW party a few years ago, and after I told him about what I do for work, he asked me "how can AI help fight climate change?" When I just said 'nothing' immediately left the conversation to talk to someone else. They're still trying though!!
So if you know one thing internally then tell investors the opposite of that, that's fraud right? If so, Exxon definitely did algae fraud www.msn.com/en-us/money/...
Just recorded a great pod, and I gotta say ... solar and batteries are going to win. They are the main dish. Everything else is a side dish. In 10 years, you won't be able to find anyone who disagrees with this.
India's EV sales in Q1 2026 increased by 121% compared to Q1 2025 timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/ind...
Hard to think of a day I've been more ashamed of America
He backed down.
Doggett just posted in support bsky.app/profile/dogg...
a post from an official democratic Threads account saying: A Trump merch store has closed after a dip in enthusiasm among his supporters led to low sales: “Sales were really slow. It all started with the war. It was dead as a door nail the minute that happened."
It's not just that the Democrats are feckless, it's that when they post things like this it makes me think they are willing to let war crimes happen because it will be politically advantageous to them.
It seems silly to be going “wow, the moon!” but seriously how bout that moon?
moon good
Thank you so much!
I'd love to read your paper on it - I'm trying to do a personal lit review on pluralistic ignorance and climate issues.
Well said
Do you support pro-solar policy? 90% say yes.
What percentage of other people support this pro-solar policy? Average estimate: 58.6%
Up-front cash for heat pumps? 80% support?
What percentage of other people support heat pumps? Average estimate: 46.8%
Incredible perception gap.
Americans are very bad at estimating how many Americans support climate action. Solar, EVs, and climate policy in general are always way more popular than people assume.
This is basically a storytelling problem, not a popularity problem.
I am once again begging clean energy advocates to stop talking up Texas' current free-for-all approach to energy development as a model of success.
Hasn't lowered emissions. Hasn't displaced fossil fuel use. Hasn't lowered bills. electricity.heatmap.news
Basically all of the most capable, and effective people I know working in social movements right now are feeling burned out, frustrated, and at a loss for what to do next.
If you're also feeling that way, you're not alone, and it's not you. It's The Madness.
