Here's my go at the prompt. For some reason I decided that even though the given canvas size was 48x48, that I would use like a third of it lol #myart #pixelart

So for fun we rolled a character prompt, picked the canvas size and color palette, and got to drawing!

This was my shot at it. It was so fun!

I would love to see something incorporating finger waves. I don't see anybody picking them up nor laying them down these days, but it's a cute style, and I'm sure there's plenty of opportunity for a creative spin on them too.

3/5) But I do have perfectionism as a result. "If this draft is really good, it's like I saved lost time!" A wrong & fearful thought. In stressful times, it leads to feeling disonnected from my WIP, and overcompensating by hyperfocusing on details. A break to address stress breaks this cycle for me.

Now, I rarely have fear around starting a draft. Moreso my ADHD dysfunction & inattention means I often have shifting "urgency" alarms in my head, or can't grasp a thought long enough to keep it in mental focus. +

1/5) I often see "How do I start writing" type questions. The correct answer is always "Just write or you won't have jack to tell," with actionable steps being bull-in-a-china-shop tips (good) to subtler tricks to "fool" yourself into writing (also good).

The only time I'll say it may not be as needed is if every single speaker has instantly recognizable speech. But be honest: How often are you writing a dialect, a speech impediment, education- or period-based diction, slang, and/or a completely different language in the same conversation?

Writing Tip: In prose, when I have more than two speakers in a scene and they're all going back and forth, I often find it helpful to place speech tags /before/ the dialogue to clarify the next speaker.

I'm reading a book where the author rarely does this despite 3+ speakers and I'm begging y'all.

I've a relative like this and their defense mechanism is to double down and say it's just their "personality".

When I bother to engage that now (easier to ignore/leave), I say wow, I have a personality too. And it's not to set my entire self aside to always make your life more convenient. Change.
