🧵 Hillingdon Council’s cycling strategy is a total policy failure.
In short, the plan is to build just two (yes TWO) relatively short cycle lanes by 2034, a bit of upgrades and some limited off-road & canal improvements (which even they admit will be unsafe for women).
Throwing a civil servant under the bus will not distract from the fact that the PM asked no questions about Mandelson's vetting, that his office did not even want to conduct vetting, or that he made an outrageous error of judgement in appointing Mandelson in the first place.
The PM must resign.
The PM says it is "unforgivable" that he was not informed about Mandelson failing vetting.
It is Starmer's clear lack of judgement and disregard for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein which is unforgivable. The PM must take responsibility and resign.
Starmer appointed Mandelson despite knowing his links to Epstein and foreign states.
He resisted and then took a wilfully ignorant attitude towards vetting, compromising national security.
He threw a civil servant under the bus to try and save his own skin.
The PM must resign.

Pleased to attend a flood defences briefing at Pinn Meadows and Ruislip Woods earlier this week, learning from local volunteers about the importance of maintaining flood assets. Hard to believe that much of this area was under water after intense rainfall in 2016.
In the flurry of outstanding answers to my Mayor’s Questions that came in last week was one sharing the extent of bus cuts in London.
Persuading more people to catch the bus would help the Mayor meet his transport targets, but bus cuts won’t help with that! 🤷♀️
