The London Jesuit Centre's reception will probably be unstaffed on Thursday (9 April 2026) and Friday (10 April 2026) in the afternoon, so the front door is likely to be closed. If that happens, please ring us on 020 7529 4843, or email us at heythroplibrary@jesuit.org.uk The Library is scheduled to be open on…

A series problem About 10 days ago we had an enquiry arrive in our inbox, which almost made my heart stop. Well, not really, but I know if someone asks about a serial in our collection (whether a scholarly journal or a magazine) this could spell trouble, or at least some cumbersome detective work. Indeed, we recently have applied for external funding to obtain money to finance a part-time project staff member for 5 years to rectify things.

Against the backdrop of an image from the sky onto a rocky, lower landscape, some birds fly through he photo. Four images are placed at the bottom of the book cover: the first and fourth image is of Edith Stein; first as a younger woman in a white dress, the fourth image of her as a nun. The two middle images are of a painting of Stein in style of a saint with a golden halo, and then a statute made of stone.
