Kirsty Allsopp has a very odd place in the Great British Discourse Machine. A household name but not globally famous. Not a basic GB News grifter. AND YET. Absolutely top of the A-list when it comes to driving clicks to news sites with anything she says about how Brits should live their lives.

Many reasons to worry about this. One deeply felt: the sudden joy on the face of an LGBTQ+ young person when they see themselves reflected & acknowledged. In a book, a Pride display on a notice board, in a class. They walk a little taller. Being seen to exist can still be special.
