Ran into our future Senator @peggyflanagan.bsky.social at the SD64 convention!
Whoops, I meant congrats on the DFL endorsement! But considering Heather committed to abiding, it’s relatively safe to say Simon will soon be the next Senator.
Boy, I sure AM tired!
Congrats to the new State Senator for SD51, @simonfor51.bsky.social! This has been a heck of a ride.
Thank you also to Heather Starks for running a classy, positive, issues-driven campaign.
Now I need to sleep!
SD51 Senate endorsement result:
Simon Trautmann Cordova.
Heather Starks conceding and is amped to help win the district. Still doing good work on Bloomington school board. Great two candidates
Yeah and he’s colorblind too so he’s swagging on them essentially with one arm tied behind his back
Gonna try to organize SD51 observations in a thread starting... now
I couldn't have said it better. Thank you @seankershaw.bsky.social
St Paul vs Saint Paul body boxing
Saint Paul pothole?
I think we should get one spruce tree hater and one spruce tree lover to wrestle in the parking lot.
The right answer is “yes”
I emailed them both. Noecker responded affirmatively, in detail, within a day, both in writing and by phone. Perez-Vega took a week and responded negatively, listing her other priorities and why a Ford Spur trail was a waste of her time and money.
I asked the candidates for Ramsey County District 5 if they would prioritize acquiring the Ford Spur and building the promised mixed-use trail on it (from Highland Bridge to Randolph Ave). Rebecca Noecker said yes. Maria Perez-Vega said no. So I’ll be endorsing Noecker at the District 64 Convention.
Oh, that’s good.

An absolute must watch, people! I was there in person and much of the analysis presented felt like a gut punch. The current state of the city is very sobering. But we have to understand the problem to start fixing it, I guess.

An endless stream of bike riders heading to the no kings rally in st Paul
Summit Ave as a bikeway is essential infrastructure of American democracy
Yeah the vibe was so different than the first one. I arrived planning to have some silly fun but right away I saw a sign that said “Here for our Neighbors - Alex and Renee” and felt a weight hit me in the chest. “No Kings” means something bigger now.
It was amazing to see how many people came out today.
But the legacy of the last five months—the lives lost and destroyed, the people torn out of our community, the damage that is still everywhere you look—is sitting so heavily.
The stakes are so unbelievably high.
Bruce Springsteen: This past winter, federal troops brought death and terror to the streets of Minneapolis. Well, they picked the wrong city.
😔how are you?
