I would add "The more I believe in myself and my purpose, the harder I work, the luckier I get" although I believe luck has little to do with succes. Its just a matter of how co fident you are to grab opportunities when they arise.

Those are hardeset to get. Everyone now wants only mid to seniors. What I do is market myself as mid level. Which I am but depends on which company is hiring. You just have to find the right match.

Finally approved!
I guess I'd better get my proposals polished 😄

#upwork delays my ID verification.
It's either I'm older or more beautiful than my ID photos 😄
Did it happen to you?

So what are your dB recommendations for a frontend developer that only worked with DAAS ( convex, supabase) and wants to make the jump into more traditional models?
This is to learn new skills and ditch #supabase which doesn't offer much for a free tier 🤔

I have to say I love react query!
RefetchType:active allows you to refetch invalidated queries when that query is mounted anywhere in the UI.
It helped me solve a nasty bug in my work project.

The Problem With NextJS A backend for frontend - not a backend

That's a nice article from Matt Burgess on this topic

Unpopular opinion:
You don't need your custom backend solution with Next.js.
I may not know a lot about backend but what I do know is that you can't have a tool that does both FE and BE!

Does click-apply really work these days?
Or the lengthier networking route via LinkedIn is more efficient?
Just curious: how did you get your current role?

Currently learning about #convex.
It kind of blows my mind what advancements we witness in tech.
With #convex you don't need #ORM !
Queries are typescript code so no worries about type safety !
You can easily integrate convex with any client library.
And no need to write #SQL.
Have you used convex?

Did you get this warning "unknown at rule @theme" when you use the theme rule from v4 of #tailwindcss ?
If using #tailwindintellisense extension for #vscode change the language mode from CSS to Tailwind CSS.

I have decided on the stack for my app:
Next.js
Convex for all my dB handling needs (super easy to integrate).

Tanstack Query to handle API requests

Clerk for user authentication.

I've set up the project, created the sign-in/ sign-up pages, and created custom Tailwind themes.

Yes, the Web dev challenges.

Just watched 2 episodes of #webdevchallenge from @codetv.dev and I want more!
Congrats to @jason.energy for this project.
Who needs Netflix?

I just have the idea of a quick app to try Vue on. Thanks to #codetv for that!
True, for jobs, React is king, still.

Exactly! Thanks for the words of encouragement 🙏

React really does code complicated! It just happens to be the first library I worked and stuck with , but I will give Vue a go, at least for a little side project.

You're absolutely right!

Yeah, the debate here is familiarity over the unknown!
Is there a deep learning curve?
I understand they are pretty similar.

I have something to mule over the next few days. I like exploring new techs, but I don't see much talk on Vue, most jobs/ contracts require React.
Or it's that unexplainable thing when you want a BMW, you see BMWs everywhere 😅

I'm thinking of trying Vue over React for my project...
Apart from adding it to my CV, I see many opinions in favour of Vue.
Simpler state management, create your own middleware..
Question is: stick to what u know or dive in the unknown?

Thank you for your input. I will do a bit of research on it too, but your findings seem valid.

So true. Happiness is just a bundle of these daily micro-joys as you call them! I know another term for them : "glimmers" which is basically the opposite of "triggers".

What's your opinion on keycloak? I'm starting a FS project and debating between clerk and keycloak , the latter I just discovered.

Yup, been there, done that. Really shame on Adobe.
