Last week, I had the joy of playing Death Game by @laurieoc.bsky.social
In the lead up to playing, I put together some reference sheets to help during play, and I thought I’d share them here.
You can get Death Game here: laurieoconnel.itch.io/death-game

I'm more active on insta @twelvepinspress
Sent out a little mailing list update since I've been so active this last week.
The PDF is also on sale until the end of the week to celebrate (I should have done this immediately but I forgot - it got knocked off the to do list somehow)
Inshallah more of you purchase this, fighting fund is due
The realisation that life as we know it can end at any time feeds my desperation to create stuff I think (after the revolution i become an accountant)
Are you fed yet, or do you still need more, you greedy bastards
Boost it, share it, get it (if you haven't already) here. And if you want the physical copy, you have two weeks left to late pledge on the kickstarter.

Let it never be said I don't bring gifts.
Full Send is live on itch now. 164+ pages of mountain climbing goodness. The biggest and most creative project I've ever finished so far.
Had the pleasure of playing Death Game by
@laurieoc.bsky.social tonight.
It was so good that we all lost track of time, and I am now going to have a very sleepy day tomorrow at work.

Hello, it's on the website now :)
Man vs Beast or “THIS GAME DOES NOT CONDONE MURDER” A game for two players, in which you must hunt and slaughter an infernal beast wearing the skin of a healthcare CEO. Society won’t thank you for it, but you’ll know the truth. You’ll know that what you did was not only right, but necessary.
Player One. Player Two. You are a lone devil hunter, the kind that tracks down your prey with a Google search and a trunk full of salt, holy water and guns. You’ve spent the last two months tracking down the most powerful devil you’ve ever come across; an entity which feeds on the pain and suffering of others on an industrial scale. It has devoured the soul of a healthcare CEO and now lives in its skin, out in the open in the centre of New York City, feasting on the rot which pervades society. But not any more. Today is the day you hunt it down and drive it back to hell. As long as it doesn’t catch onto you first. You are an devil wearing the face of a millionaire. You fit in with your peers just fine; after all, you all profit from human misery. You just do it in a more direct way. Since you took over the business from your unfortunate predecessor, you’ve eaten so, so well. Your power grows uncontrollably. You feel no need to hide your evil deeds. This is America, after all. Still, you know you have to be careful. No petition or legislation in the world can stop you, but a rocksalt bullet could send you right back to the hell you came from. Rules For Play. Each player starts with a handful of dice. Whenever one character takes an action against the other, both players roll any die of equal size. • The winner is the one with the highest number rolled. • The loser adds their die to a stack in front of them. • The game continues until someone’s stack falls. • When the hunter’s stack falls, they add one to their exposure score (which starts at 0) and start stacking again.
I'm really grateful to @hodagrpg.bsky.social for providing the illustrations for this anthology. You are amazing. Here's a little bit of one of the games inside.
The cover and back page of a zine entitled "regime change super soldiers"
A collection of political games by Laurie O’Connel, this incomplete anthology comments on political violence, war and imperialism. O’Connel’s modern take on the somewhat restrictive form of the role-playing game asks what a game writer or player living through the death agony of the US empire can possibly say about topics which are not at all “fun”. The four games within, Regime Change Super Soldiers, Man vs Beast (or: This Game Does Not Condone Murder), Manufacturing CNNsent, and High Score, range in both number of participants and style, from one to many players and from tongue-in-cheek satire to direct participation. “You can tell from [O’Connel’s] art that he sees the world and does not blink.” Michael Elliot
Now live on Twelve Pins Press:
"Regime Change Super Soldiers" and Other Games.
An incomplete anthology of smaller RPGs which comment on political violence, war and imperialism. Proceeds are donated to fund the revolution.

You can put a no AI sticker on your work. But if your writing has nothing to say about the normalisation of genocide, the continued destruction of our planet and of entire cultures and people, and the slow erosion of the basis for civilised existence in every country, can you really call it human?
Thank you!! ❤️
