AND the brilliant work and collaboration of our partners @ppvotes!ct, all of our leg champions, and the providers who have fought to ensure that young patients they have and continue to serve can access the care they need and deserve. On to the Senate!

@reproequitynow.bsky.social is extremely grateful for the powerful leadership of State Representative @cmccarthyvahey.bsky.social
HB 7213 passed the House—which means Connecticut is one step closer to codifying protections for young people’s ability to consent to contraceptive & pregnancy-related care without facing barriers or delays.
Rat Bastards:
"The Hartford Public Library has lost a $450,000 grant for a program intended to “remove key barriers along the path to citizenship.” Several cities, including Bridgeport and Waterbury, have lost funding under the Inflation Reduction Act intended to remove lead from local homes."
It is up to all of us to ensure that we provide family planning providers with a collective and bold response that is rooted in support, investment, and solidarity.
It’s classism. It’s racism. It's dangerous. And it’s an intentional effort to make health care harder to access for those already pushed to the margins. @ppsne and CT’s safety-net providers are pillars of what true community health care looks like, and we proudly stand with them.
Let’s be clear: Regardless of what Trump or Musk claims to be the reason behind the admin’s withholding of #TitleX funding, the weaponization of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts is a deliberate attack. Not just on Planned Parenthood , but on the very communities Title X was created to serve.
The majority of those impacted by current withholding or future funding cuts are the very communities who already disproportionately face structural barriers to care- folks with lower incomes, people of color, undocumented individuals, members of the LGBTQ+ community & people without insurance.
The decision to withhold #TitleX funding puts access to essential health care services at grave risk– including the services of which I have, and continue to utilize myself.
I am just one of over 40,000 Connecticut residents who rely on PPSNE for essential routine, preventative, and primary health care services, such as cancer screenings, birth control, STI screenings, and more.
For at least a decade, @ppsne.bsky.social has been my provider for routine + preventative sexual & reproductive health care.
As they continue to provide care, no matter what, while facing threats to Title X funding, we will always stand with them & call on our elected leaders to do the same.
Abortion providers deserve more than gratitude — they deserve protection and support.
Powerful piece from @lizluvsabobo.bsky.social with @reproequitynow.bsky.social and @reachfundct.bsky.social in @ctmirror.org on why Connecticut must step up. 👇

Cecile Richards was an incredible, formidable, and fierce champion for access to sexual and reproductive health care.
As a longtime patient of @ppsne.bsky.social & advocate for reproductive equity, her work and legacy will continue to inspire myself and many others.
Thank you, Cecile. 🤍
If anyone wonders if I have always been “this way”, I have rediscovered the book I wrote at 12 years old about saving the Long Island sound from an oil spill. So. I guess so, ya
New today: The first test of a "shield" law. Texas AG Ken Paxton has sued a New York abortion provider for providing abortion pills to patients in Texas: www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/sites/defaul...
As the first state to pass a shield law in the country, this is why we are committed to ensuring CT’s shield provisions are strengthened to telemedicine providers, regardless of the location of their patients, in the upcoming 2025 legislative session. www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/release...
"When you're 1% of the population, it's hard to see how the democratic process can protect you."
THANK YOU.
love and solidarity for every trans person today.
