「魔の山」読了したので、明日の読書会に備えてこちらも読んでみたら、なにこれめっちゃよくわかる！
この長い小説を読んで、その最中も後も、こまごまと思うことがたくさんあるけど、こんな風にまとめられて全体を掴めると、スッキリ見通しが良くなるなぁ。

クワの花。今、島のあちこちで咲いています。コウゾも数は少ないですが、咲いています。
マメヅタ。好きなシダのひとつです。
利島は大半がツバキ林になっていますが、スダジイ林も残っていて、スダジイやタブノキの巨木もあります。大島には少なかったタブノキの林があるのも印象的です。
鳥ではタネコマドリとイイジマムシクイがそれなりにいます。カラスバトはツバキ林に多いでしょうか。
オカダトカゲという伊豆諸島の固有種も結構います。
伊豆大島と利島のアザミの葉の形は大きく違うように見えます。
利島では幅が広くて棘も少なくて、棘自体も柔らかい。触っても痛くない。大島では幅が狭くて棘が多くてかたい。
利島にはアザミを食べるキョンなどの動物がいないせいでしょうか（写真は利島のアザミ。大島のアザミの写真、撮り忘れました笑）。
オオルリが鳴いています。ここはヤマガラのいない、シジュウカラだけの島。

スバルサンバー（少し前の型）が、地域を走っている軽のワンボックス車のなかに占める割合は、本土より伊豆諸島のほうが高く、伊豆諸島のなかでは八丈島と利島で高いかも知れません。
利島では急な坂道を軽快に上るサンバーたちをよく見かけます。
生きもの好きですが、働く機械のメカニズムも好きです。機能がつくるデザインといえばいいでしょうか。

The Elephant's Trunk Nebula (specifically designated IC 1396A) is a dense pillar of interstellar gas and dust. It is located within the much larger IC 1396 emission nebula complex in the constellation Cepheus, roughly 2,400 light-years away. The trunk itself is about 20 light-years long. The surrounding region spans over 100 light-years in diameter.

早朝からの調査がひと段落して、昼食を食べ、『緑の家』をよむ。この島の昼下がりの森の静かさは、ほんと格別です。
いよいよエピローグの4章。最終章です。もう早く先をよみたくてたまりませんが、調査優先ですから、ほんのちょっとずつ読んでいます。断片的によんでも物語を追えるほど、でてくる人のキャラクターが印象的ですし、それぞれの話しも覚えやすいと思います。
バルガス＝リョサに出会えて、ほんと良かった。
発表順によんでいく大作戦なので、つぎはたぶん『ラ・カテドラルでの対話』の予定。でもその前に、少し時間をかけて『緑の家』のことをふり返っておきたい。
