レトロで美しい建物はそこはかとなくアールデコ風

植物標本の束。赤のラインのある標本が、「タイプ標本（Holotype）」

タイプ標本のひとつ「タイワンスギ」。赤で「Typus」の押印と赤字で「HOLOTYPE」シールあり。早田文蔵教授が行った台湾植物の研究の中でも最も著しい発見のひとつで、1907年に発表された針葉樹の親属である。

感動の体験…！

一般公開されていない「東京大学植物標本室」を見学してきました🌿

建物の扉をくぐった途端に包まれた、樟脳の匂い。それは、歴代の研究者たちの情熱と矜持そのもの。

新種発見と共に命名される学名を記載する標本は「タイプ標本（Holotype）と呼ばれ、それぞれの植物に対して世界でただ一つ。

このタイプ標本をどれだけ所蔵しているかが、標本室のクオリティを決めるそう。日本最高峰はここ東京大学植物標本室、世界最高峰は予想通り、英国キューガーデン🇬🇧

ただ、日本ではこの自然史の遺産が軽視の傾向にあり、標本室を管理維持継承することが予想以上に困難を極めているそう😭　なんたること！
