Coffee hurts us because it loves us

There are a lot of factors, but as a certified Barney hater I always have to go back to "taste matters." Barney has lots of redeeming qualities on paper but the show is so overproduced it's aesthetically dead. Why would you imprint your children on soulless production?
Robinson compares him to Weird Al's "Uncle Nutsy" which is spot on
This is incredible. Robinson makes such a good case for what makes some children's entertainment terrible.
This practice completely puts the lie to their claim to care about “local control.”
I woke up with a thought about maga, original Nazis, and the neo-confederacy they’re trying to set up under Trump. When I was a kid in school, I learned that the Nazis were, in part, a response to how badly Germany was treated after WWI.
*A*S*H
This prompted me to take a rare look at clearsky (obsessing over which is considered harmful) to see if I'm on that list and while many of the false positives are amusing, I'm happy to see I'm on the Cybertruck Haters list
The LotR version of the Magic card Essence Warden (the one not drawn by a TERF). Flavor text: “Elves seldom give unguarded advice, for advice is a dangerous gift, even from the wise to the wise.” —Gildor
"Advice is a dangerous gift, even from the wise to the wise."
zaslav tried to take this from us but he COULDNT it is too powerful

damn
also shout to the culture of children answering "yes sir" "no sir" to adults, I would have rejected it as a kid but there's something beautiful about it here
I have never seen this guy before and now I love him
Maybe the boys will be okay. Remember, if it's not an enthusiastic "yes", it's always a "no"!
This would be really funny if true because one thing we're really practiced at onhere is jumping to the least charitable conclusion and holding fast to it even after it's disproven, and I may need to practice my "fell for it award" acceptance speech
Essence is my kind of person
The Corinthian, an embodied nightmare whose eye sockets are mouths with ever-grinning teeth. He eats eyes. Art by Dave Gibbons, I think
Nancy ready to feast
Obviously “genius” is also ludicrous but I can treat that as a matter of opinion
I’ll allow them “genius” because who knows what that word really means, but inventor? Come now
Sigrid is right to use the word “athletic” about this genre of choreography, which brings me once again to @sirosenbaum.bsky.social’s better-world proposal “replace school sports with dance teams”
Ironically, we’ve been saying “look to 2010 Something Awful for a model of strong moderation” and we got what we asked for, a cool kids club where your ability to participate is at the mercy of the whims of the mods
Honestly, “you can’t subscribe to a list maintained by somebody you blocked or who blocks you” makes a certain sort of sense but is in no way intuitive or made explicitly clear. And again, if it’s maintained by a .bsky.team handle there should be a different standard of behavior anyway
Add to that an apparent lack of appropriate use policies, so it’s normal for people with a bsky dot dev username use their account for personal purposes. Why should the ordinary user need to know this?
A big part of the problem here is that the line between “user-created content” and “dev-created content” and “official site feature” doesn’t actually exist, kind of like how people were getting suspended for blocking the trust & safety bot account.
This is not a new song but my “discover” feed dropped it on me a couple days ago and since I’d never heard the To Emmylou album I’m counting it as “new for me”
I suppose the way forward is to create a “Quiet Posters for AI Haters” feed, and I emphatically cannot be bothered
For crying out really fucking loud. Quiet Posters is great.
I’m not even particularly virulent about it – I think I try to be reasonable – but labeling me an “ai hater” is a fair cop so I’m not about to appeal to @segyges.bsky.social to remove me. This is on Why to fix their shit
hello to everyone else included in the "anti-ai ai haters" blocklist the technical advisor of bluesky just followed 🫡 it's an honor just to be nominated
It’s a really good movie, but boy is it stressful. The Bob Fosse main character is such a piece of shit, I can’t believe Fosse himself wrote and directed it
Great interpretation of a great song, appropriate thematic-lyrical fit, perfect montage
