Recent experimental trade piece; I absolutely love how this one turned out!
I really tried to play into mixing liminal spaces with surrealism and just went with the flow
a digital illustration of a quadrupedal animal standing in deep water, surrounded by cranes. The animal is mostly black with green and blue undertones under the dark hatch lines. It has smooth, short fur and a slim body with a head and ears similar to a horse, with the exception of an unusually large canine-like mouth with an unsettling smile. It has wide, bright orange eyes and flared nostrils colored with the same orange. Its body is parallel to the viewer, with its head and neck turned back around behind it. Four black and white cranes with red cheeks fly around and over the creature. In the background, the creature is looking towards a large light pink circle with orange portions. The circle itself has many black lines emanating from the center, radiating out over the rest of the image. Where the upper lines meet the sky, they fade out like wisps of smoke. Where the lower lines meet the water, they dissipate like ink in water.
