Two scientists are overlooking a high-tech chamber containing Cartoon Cat, who appears dead and crumpled inside a sealed machine. A flashback shows two people in hazmat suits overlooking Cartoon Cat’s dead body, crushed beneath a fallen piano. Cartoon Cat has X’s in his eyes and his mouth is full of piano keys, comically resembling teeth. Comic title “Cartoon Cat in: “Look Who Dragged in the Cat” Scientist 1: “Well I’ll be damned… they actually managed to contain it.” Scientist 2: “Don’t celebrate just yet; we just got it restrained for now. We still gotta freeze it, chop it up, and send the samples to the labs so we can see what makes it tick. Personally I’d rather incinerate this freak and call it a day, but it ain’t my call.” Scientist 1: “How the hell did you all do it, anyway? We must have lost at least a hundred agents just trying to track down this thing!” Scientist 2: “Well, conventional weapons didn’t work before, so we went with something unconventional. You wanna catch a toon, you gotta think like a toon.” Scientist 1: “What’d you do, drop an anvil on its head?” Scientist 2: “Actually… it was a baby grand piano.”
Page 2: The scientist try to activate the failsafe, only for a literal safe labeled “FAIL” to drop out of nowhere and kill him, splattering the other scientist with blood. She then realizes the chamber containing Cartoon Cat is now empty, with a sign labeled “Vacancy”. Scientist 1: “I refuse to believe it was that easy.” Scientist 2: “Well, either way, it worked. Okay, locks are secure, just gotta activate the failsafe.”
Scientist 1 realizes the “Fail safe” is starting to open up by itself, and immediately bolts out of the room, yelling into a walkie-talkie as Cartoon Cat’s emerges from within the safe. She pushes a button outside the door to seal the room, running down the hall as two armed guards run back towards the room she just came out of. Cartoon Cat’s arms are seen grabbing the emergency blast doors, forcing them open while visibly crushing the metal edges. Scientist 1: “All units! The cat’s out of the bag! Code Black! I repeat: CODE BLACK!”
