This World Environment Day is a reminder that protecting the planet isn’t just about planting more — it’s about restoring better.
Restoration efforts rarely last without community ownership and strong local commitment.
That’s the difference we need to focus on💡
#WorldEnvironmentDay
Integrity isn’t a box to tick. It’s a shared commitment to keep building something better together.

As policies shift and methodologies evolve, the direction of carbon markets is being shaped in real time. We're committed to being part of that evolution: not just following standards but working with our partners to help define them.
Trust takes time. Clear communication, local presence, and fair benefit-sharing are central to how we work, ensuring true community ownership and climate-just impact.
From land identification to project design, the message was clear: successful projects begin and end with strong community relationships.
In our fireside chat "How to get your Blue Carbon project approved in Asia”, Kim (our CEO), Dato’Selva (our Country Director, Malaysia), and our guest speaker Francois Blignaut from SaraCarbon shared grounded perspectives on project development.
WIF at Argus Asia Carbon Conference 2025 – Sarawak, Malaysia
At this year’s Argus Asia Carbon Conference in Kuching, WIF joined leading voices in carbon markets to discuss the evolving market landscape in Asia.
It was a muddy and sweaty couple of days, but we learned a lot, had plenty of laughs, and came away inspired by the strong community spirit and shared enthusiasm.
This is just the beginning: together, we’re planting roots for a resilient future.
Huge thanks to our fantastic Sarawak team for your hospitality, smooth coordination, and strong expertise throughout the visit. Special appreciation to the Serdeng village community for their genuine warmth, sharp questions, and the wonderful balance of laughter and open dialogue.

Every day is Earth Day 🌏
A reminder that protecting nature is not a once-a-year job
Mangroves cover less than 1% of tropical forests, but they store up to 5x more carbon than most 🌱

Some of our WIF Myanmar staff and their families lost their homes in the recent earthquake.
This fundraiser will help them rebuild their homes and restore their lives.
In the meantime, we encourage anyone wishing to help immediately to donate directly to the World Food Programme: www.wfp.org/stories/myan...

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the Myanmar earthquake. While we’re relieved that none of our team members have been physically injured, some of our staff have lost their homes and loved ones. We are working on a fundraiser and will share details soon.
