The number of Republicans crashing out about getting nakedly gerrymandered is, unironically, a sign that we need to do more of it. You guys are correct! This shit sucks! Welcome to the party, pals! We can all stop doing it any time you like!

So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out

Breaking News: Virginia voters approved a congressional map that could let Democrats flip up to four House seats, a boost to the party’s effort to win control of the chamber this fall. nyti.ms/4vZ20vM

The DOJ was created to increase the capacity for federal prosecutions during Reconstruction esp. those to be brought under the newly enacted KuKlux Klan Act.

Now the DOJ is being used to prosecute a storied civil rights organization whose central mission has been to expose & dismantle the Klan.

Oh it turns out that vanquishing the college student who uses they/them in their email signature is not bringing you the fulfillment that you hoped for? You are still working in your crappy and unfulfilling job, paying a mortgage you now can't afford, and dealing with your annoying kids... I see.

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

BU’s DOS and Office of Judicial Affairs were thus doing the work of tamping down protest well before the reelection of Donald Trump, the deployment of ICE against protesters and the broader entrenchment of an authoritarian program in the federal government. Unfortunately, those offices and other units of the University have continued to do so to the present moment, in a local reflection of Trumpian disregard for law and free speech, notwithstanding repeated efforts of faculty and affected students to engage with the University administration.

For everyone asking “why aren’t the students protesting Trump?” perhaps ask instead “What’d the universities teach students would happen if you protest?”

The votes are in 📢 Lesley University faculty voted overwhelmingly in favor to authorize a STRIKE! Faculty are ready to strike for fair wages, manageable workloads, stopping the over reliance on temp faculty & a successorship clause that would retain their union contract.

Good for him but I am tired of learning about all the ways a 41-year-old candidate for U.S. Senate supposedly has a lot more growing and learning to do. Maybe do that before the Senate? And maybe try out a lower office before then?

Or maybe we just watch him blossom into another Sinema/Fetterman.

“Republicans want more teen pregnancy” might now be the best example of how the general public cannot comprehend how extreme the GOP has become.

i can't help but think about 10 or 11 years ago when conservatives insisted that obama was uniquely anti-catholic because his administration thought that catholic-led orgs could just fill out a form if they didn't want to cover contraceptives in their health plans for employees.

The year is 2026. The president and the pope are fighting. The right is arguing in favor of teen pregnancy as the world crumbles and American hegemony disappears. Slay the Spire 2 is also out. It is truly a tumultuous time with many complicated intricacies to consider.
