I think for me it'll be like Harry Potter. The longer it was since I read the books the more and more I would enjoy the movies. I imagine LotR fans felt the same.
I won't tell someone they're wrong for enjoying the changes because those books are far from perfect and changes need to be made, except for Loial, my feelings remain emotionally strong on that 🤣. My bf, hasn't read the books, absolutely loves the show. He just won't watch with me bc I rant 🤪
Thats fair, i may rant but thats on me. My main point though is "closest season adaptation" is a STRETCH. After the changes they've made previous seasons, coupled with the changes made this upcoming season, it is unlikely to be nearly as close as season 1 as each season deviates further and further
Not to mention their inept handling of Loials character. He was a friend of the group, not someone annoying hanger on that is constantly ignored like they portray in the show.
MORRAINES change in season 2 literally unravels thr later plotting with Nynaeve, Siuane, the false dragon, the town, like....that alone. Making Uno a hero of the horn smh. Egwene killing that girl when she knew that she already had her locked in a fate worse than death SMH. My heart can't take it

You can't give key Aiel powers they didn't have in the books, take powers other characters did have away, change an Aiel background to make them Malkieri, and play musical chairs w/key characters and clans, then say "closest adaptation" After already deviating from the plot 💙📚
