I’m entirely sold on this. It’s been so great seeing your experience over the past few weeks - thanks for sharing

Why did BBC Breakfast give Reform UK a special graphic? A small detail in a brief report sparks some big questions about what the national broadcaster is doing during the run up to local and national elections.

It definitely looked weird... open.substack.com/pub/brokenbo...

Quick morning shout out to all the other freelancers who didn't even know it was the bank holiday, the whole concept having become utterly irrelevant to their lived experience.

The Labour commitment to making every structural mistake the Tories did, including not working out how to effectively fight an intra-bloc challenger, is actually quite impressive.

Loud boys at computers, and me walking toward them to ask them to lower their voices.

Then, I hear the loudest say, "That's just your internalized homophobia, dude. Why does it bother you?" followed by silence followed by "Why does it bother you?"

I spun on my heel and walked away.

Week by week - Laura Kuenssberg is interviewing the party leaders.

When I agreed to come on the show, I was told Nigel Farage was also doing it.

He's now pulled out - and they've sent the deputy instead.

The same Nigel Farage who's refusing to debate me.

A pattern emerging...

In "celebration" of thr Pepto Bismol ad now being on the radio, I took some popular radio-friendly songs and added the "Diarrhea" guy.

I think this is the edit making it look longer/more suspicious than it was. Lots of other shots of folk standing around it followed this bit… we’re all hooked 🤣

PlayStation 5 recommendations, please 👋

Love the likes of Horizon, Skyrim, Spyro. Currently working through F1 but need something grittier and more story led I think!

I imagined the production would write them, for this reason - would be so easy to cross check. Happy snooping though! (I think the J is toooooo different)

Duane Kearns Puryear, holding his panel for the AIDS Memorial Quilt. It reads, in block letters: "My name is Duane Kearns Puryear. I was born on December 20, 1964. I was diagnosed with AIDS on September 7, 1987 at 4:45 PM. I was 22 old. Sometimes, it makes me very sad. I made this panel myself. If you are reading it, I am dead..."

There are several great resources to learn about Duane, his advocacy, his family, his panel, and the politics of memory and re-creation, especially this one by The Dallas Way: http://www.thedallasway.org/stories/written/2021/9/19/duane-puryears-and-the-quilt-panel

Duane Puryear died in 1991.

We have a Samsung (55”), and it randomly just cuts out - like it short circuits but we cannot figure out why (?!). It’s never a particular app, or time of day… really bizarre.

“Desiderata”, by Max Ehrmann.

“Desiderata”, by Max Ehrmann.

This week I discovered the poem “Desiderata” by Max Ehrmann. It got me. There is, I think, some sound life advice within. I share the poem here, in case it also does others good.
