Also feel the need to reiterate this isn't a callout post. Indigo is my homie & we are both adults, they know what they're signing up for when I have 3 hours to work on a video the day before lmao, & aside from minor mistakes I fix, they've always been happy with what I can put together, & so am I.

Anyways, that's all I've got. But yeah, I'm going to include the original album covers for most of the teasers to compare with.

I think I've learnt a lot of things that will help me in future work and hope to keep making better stuff. Prior to, I had basically no experience with vertical content.

And then there's the time I made 16 individual teasers for their Spectrum Vol. 1 Remix Compilation during the middle of my paid time off in Christmas with only an exported 3D animation and artworks to use.
Not my greatest work, but we ball. If it works it works.

Actually I scrolled up in our dms, I found two other works I did, from a year+ ago. I think the improvement for rush works speaks for itself. It is based off their style of teasers at the time, but still quite a ways away from before.

What I'm most happy with is that unlike other works where I could have done better with more time, in spite of it being ~6 hours of work in 2 days, could not have been executed any better. The assets were all flattened so a better product would have been exponentially more difficult.

I've never had the chance to play around with kaleidoscopic effects and with the very simple and glitched effects of the single artworks, the template I threw together I think really makes for some cool shapes and visual experiences that pair pretty nicely with each song.

Fortunately I think I managed to really lock into an idea very quickly and it's a body of work that I am very proud of. It's simple, it's not what I originally thought I was setting up for, but all that aside, I think it's a very well put together teaser. + Mix also by yours truly

I had expressed interest in making something for the compilation in advance as we had a Simulcats track on the compilation. But I thought it was coming out in mid-February, and the scope of work grew a lot from the original singular compilation artwork, to the unique 24 artworks.

And now we've reached the present. Of which I was presented with a request for a teaser and Spotify canvases, okay pretty straightforward.

The catch: It's a 24 track compilation.

Turns out it was part of a 3 track pack. This one I look back wishing I could have done better, a few nitpicks that irk me, but being busy myself, to Indigo's advice, I reopened the prior project and kept to the templates and animations I had already built.

If it works, it works.

Back to HMEWRK, I had to really scratch my head when I was given the artwork for their Molly Otto remix. It was a white circle on a white background. What am I supposed to do with that??? Well, I guess there are things you can do even within one editing session.

So many ideas but so little time. I was fortunate to have a PSD to work with, it's no magnum opus, but given ~4-5 hours over 2 days, I'm really happy with the details I was able to slide in, along with finally learning custom particle systems and rigging tools. + Mix by yours truly.

2/2 - Lorecore

Now comes some of the Antithesys work, I actually had a hand in a few of the Antithesys teasers a over the years, equally as rushed, but a step up.
I was reached out for a teaser of Quartzone's Lorecore compilation and then subsequently for Spotify Canvases for each track.

The OUT NOW post was also pretty fun and engaging I think. It also allowed me to foresee how I was going to tackle all future HMEWRK videos as their branding is as consistent as it could get. Some black handwriting on white paper, if it works it works.

2/2 - GO!

Next project was their remix of GO! w/ KERO & Wil OC.
For this I was given a bit more time, but had some more assets to work with, & overall made for a fun and more engaging piece of work. In retrospect, maybe I could have not jumpscared the music, but I still think the surprise was fun.

My first project was for their remix of Falling 4 You, and all I had was some shaky cellphone footage, a simple (but very on brand) album cover, music, & some handwritten assets. It was also the first time I learnt that the landscape (pun intended) is now to do videos in portrait.

To be honest, so simple, and yet one of my favourite ones I've ever made.

My latest Pikmin 4 obsession has helped me realize that I need to watch even more YouTube while at work so I have more time for hobbies when I get home.

A pretty basic piece of work, but had a lot of fun really dissecting and reverse engineering the original artwork of Tails & Darby - hearurvoice to then repurpose for the Simulcats Remix.

Turns out Bluesky doesn't like when you upload 4'000 x 4'000 videos.

Who woulda thought.

For anyone curious though, while I can't find definitive limitations, one for sure is that the video must be less than 50mb.

Over the course of a few days, I had the fun challenge of whipping up an animated loop of the FORM All Nighter Vol. 9 Compilation artwork. Unlike the music, it wasn't made in a 24 hour session, but it was speedrun nevertheless across a few days.

I tend to treat every social media as completely independent of each other with distinctly different content from other platforms.

Really enjoying the creativity of all the graphics work and art in the discovery feed. Might use Bluesky to share some of my animated and still graphics work.
