A sheet of flimsy, age-mottled paper in the foreground appears to be a sheet from an old receipt pad, bearing an engraving of the bookshop in one corner and a list of products and services in the other. I found this when I was organising the Diary Room, which I am definitely not allowed in (and neither are you according to the Instructions), but I ran out of other things to organise and the Metatron said I was to keep busy. I don’t think it’s supposed to be Earthside, but I thought you might know a special reason for it being here. I’m not meant to talk to ~~Supreme Archangel Azir~~ Mr Fell, but I think he’d want you to keep it safe until he comes back. From Inspector Constable Muriel, 37th Level Scrivener, Temporary Bookshop Proprietor, Gold Star.’ Behind the note, a post-it branded with a tasteful orange logo — ‘Brown’s World of Carpets’ — has been left propped against the snow globe. The writing is Crowley’s — angular black scrawl. ‘Shouldn’t leave this lying about.’ It’s signed with a single X.
