Rare post incoming. I have learned something very interesting about the discord age verification. Despite saying in a press release the data does not leave your device. Do not trust it, the provider "Persona" has many things you should be aware of...

imagine screwing up your platform so bad discord that you start crashing the competition 😬

However Stoat's Voice chat has been sketchy the last time I used it, although I hope it's better now. The UI is very simple and similar to discord and making bots is so easy so that's my preferred alternative

I hope this is the final straw for many as it is for me. As for alternatives good ones are few and far between. I'm not a huge fan of Element, mainly just the UI is questionable at best. Mattermost is niche and doesn't have VOIP as far as I know. The best alternative I've found so far has been stoat

The default discord client has become unusable on Linux for me, crashing like every 5 minutes in a call that I've switched to Vesktop which does practically everything Nitro does for free. Discord used to be my go-to for communication now I only use it because nobody will switch to something else.

Discord has been going downhill for a while. First the absurdly priced cosmetics and basic features being locked behind nitro. Then shoving adds in the form "quests" where even if you click "do not show again" it turns back on after one update.

@stoat.chat is pretty solid for text only. It's a shame this is being implemented on discord :/

Well quals didn't go all that well gping 1-5-0 however I still think we did a solid job making matches close. We additionally were able to drop a 91 skills total putting us 31st in the US. Not bad all things considered especially after the hell the morning of was. Next up: Worlds (Hopefully)

Same bot this time in Framingham Mass for a full tournement tomorrow

This afternoon we got the opportunity to compete for skills at our first event of the year at WPI. While we didn't put together great runs we got a score on the board, and we know the changes needed for the second half of the year

On our way to WPI to run some skills at "THE WAVE" Signature event, the bots may not be pretty but they're functional

The team (2 devs) has started working on it 3 weeks ago. They had to start from scratch because we decided to implement it natively on Android. We're having another sync on thu but so far we've covered the basics like persisting logins, timeline, etc.
