Yeah, I would just had to be sure that they have multiple options for Up, so they don’t feel like they can be cornered or trapped and have freedom of movement.

Eventually, I mean. If they’re able to share space and just ignore each other, that’s a good place to allow them to work from, if you can get there.

You could try bigger gate with a blanket maybe? So they can smell and hear each other, but not see… that might help your cats feel less anxious. I think coexisting without wanting to interact, but not being unhappy about it, might be the next thing to aim for? If they can be in the same room calmly.
