I am 99% certain it’s not…
FYI Aer Lingus customer service is infamous . Strong vibe of “consider yourself lucky we deign to speak to you”
Last time I had an issue I went to the airport and insisted on a refund. In cash. That worked…

Are you sure that’s really aer Lingus?
I was thinking that from the start. Carriers of limited use, terrified of human losses, zero international support…
This can backfire. My dad heard of a guy whose inheritance covered college and little else. Spent 15 years in TCD (Dublin). Ended up with 2 phds in obscure and hideous tropical diseases.
Then WW2 started and the military suddenly needed experts to go into the field. And could draft people….
I have an Irish Constitution joke, but there’s two versions. In different languages. One of which has no direct translations for “yes” or “no”
Bridget and Alois had a son, Patrick Hitler who served in the US navy in the Pacific in WW2. Apparently she wasn’t fond of her brother-in-law and they left Austria in a hurry around the time of the Anschluss as the feeling was mutual…
“Bridget Hitler”: about the woman who married hitler’s brother Alous who was working as a waiter in the Shelbourne…
I feel really sorry for you. How are you supposed to produce Economist level content when foreign and defence policy is run by people who one coupon short of a toaster
“Cat”… thought up by “the play that goes wrong “
It's almost worth trying to buy one to see if they actually ship it, or send you a message about how stupid you are.
Or someone is using an LLM to spot gaps in the market...
I suspect a lot of this is because that when you live in Europe what the country next door is doing *really matters*, as for many countries the main export is 'history', so we pay attention.
I think it's tragic. I'm based in Dublin, but spent a decade in the US. A big difference is how poor foreign coverage is in the US. If it isn't happening to an American, or visible from space, it doesn't make any part of an average US paper. The @washingtonpost.com and @nytimes.com cover the gap.
Would my cancelling by wp subscription make your situation better, worse or have no effect?
I grew up in Europe, in an era of nationalised airlines. Dublin to London was 600 euros round trip. Now we have competition and it’s around e150, possibly as low as e50.
You’d have to be mad to have 1 national airline in the US.
Real issue is airlines ‘owning’ hubs, like Delta and Atlanta
Um, if he wasn’t motivated by money when dealing with Epstein, what was he motivated by? 😡
Exactly.
You might want to consider survivor bias. For both groups.
I feel this post never got the love it deserves
And finally, finally the man at 1600 will lose control of the media narrative…
The more minions they impeach, the more silly stuff will be said in under oath, which will lead to more impeachments, like self sustaining nuclear fission…
And the man at 1600 will talk and talk and make everything worse…
What’s not to like?
Especially when they are even less trained and disciplined than the Black & Tans.
America’s fundamental weakness is an inability to learn from the mistakes of other countries. Until they make a mistake themselves they can’t comprehend it.
It’s really weird…
Bear in mind: The two most recent murders happened while ICE knew that HD video was being filmed from at least three angles. But they did it anyway. And there are thousands of more of these Murder Monkeys in the pipeline. ICE have barely started.
This is not about immigration. It’s about racism and the persecution of anyone who isn’t a hard core trump supporter. If it was an attempt to deal with immigration it’d be happening in FL, but FL voted for trump.
This lot are far worse than the Black and Tans, and the IT’s story should say so
He’d also change his name at that point
Don’t get it either TBH. Shouldn’t we be encouraging them to use *lots* of experts, not handing out advice based purely on internet crawls?
Note that this doesn’t absolve them from all sorts of other madness…
The AI companies aren’t total fools. They are making efforts to stop really objectively dangerous stuff. Ask the wrong question and it will be noticed, in the same way scanners can spot banknotes.
“UK sends troop to Greenland”
As opposed to a “deliveroo cheetah” ?
David Attenborough voice:
“With its credit card almost maxed out, the Cheetah needs to chose its next meal carefully”I
If I were him I’d be more worried about the contents of the cup than what’s on the outside…..
