Hey, so everyone who's getting needlessly and ridiculously vitriolic about a subjective IGN review this week will turn that energy towards something that might actually deserve it, right?
Right??

I have never played a splatoon game - I'm not a massive multiplayer shooter guy, so Raiders looks super interesting to me!
Happy birthday! Hope you have a good one! ๐๐
They are not the only one ๐
As you all know myself and 33 others were fired from Rockstar Games in what we believe was a ruthless and illegal act of Union Busting. We're fighting this tooth and nail. If you are able, please consider donating to our fighting fund so we can hold them to account!! ๐ฑโ

WE ARE HIRING!
We're seeking a full-time fundraising manager to establish and grow our non-profit's development department - in other words, to raise money and help us grow! Remote-hybrid in the SF Bay Area with benefits!

Related to this - does anyone have any experience or resources for running a Discord solo? Iโm on the fence since I donโt know how much time itโll take up, so any tips to make it manageable would be welcome!
Having a "want to try making a thing" brainwave - does anybody know a good place to look at town plans?
I want to try and understand layout design (where and why buildings are generally put in relation to others) a bit more.
I am... hugely sceptical of this film. But the image on the board looks... good? Exciting even??
Interestingly, the city I grew up in has a story about that!
When building the new cathedral (~ the year 1100), they had their best archer stand at the site of the old one and fire an arrow.
They supposedly built the new (current) cathedral where it landed!
I suppose city, rather than town!
Thanks so much for this! That makes total sense - thinking about it now, the town I grew up in was definitely built around its cathedral as a central landmark!

UPDATE: After a day of retaliatory action by our old host, our new dev has the path mostly cleared right now.
We are deeply thankful for all of the support, whether you donated or boosted, it means a lot. We have raised just under $1,700, which is almost half of our costs. ๐ซถ๐ฝ

Oh, to be a dog on a road trip.
Having finished this book last week, I can also recommend it as one of the strangest, brilliant, and entrancing books I've read in ages.

It's a lovely day for birding, and we're starting off strong with the pretty uncommon (and new lifer for me) "Common Redstart" in my local park and a gorgeous "Red Kite" flying overhead.
Hopefully bodes well for the day ๐
It was and still is wild how this guy got to be an open Gater, changed or apologized for none of it, and everyone chose to ignore or make defenses for it with KCD2.
i am extremely not surprised that the outlet that exploited vulnerable queer writers for years with awful pay, didn't pay them for months, an (as far as i can tell) subsidies on asking award show nominees for sponsorships would ignore that stuff so he could nominate this guy's game
Either celebrate games as art, or drop the pretence. Thereโs not really a middle ground.
Wild pokemon can evolve mid dungeon???
Don't think that's a thing in any of the other games, right?
A tv showing the main menu screen of a pokemon video game. It is yellow with clouds and a sunset. The logo for the game is centred.
Playing it the way it was intended.
this movement is not a litmus test. It is not about what is secretly in your heart. It is not about being "good."
Unlike Harry Potter stuff, this is an actual organized movement with people on the ground specifically telling you that this is what helps.
What are you doing.
games media will post about every Xbox embargo and feign sympathy in accordance to the latest press release about layoffs
but they won't post about this

I've had to put a bit of work into moving my two websites over from wix this month after learning they're owned by Israel.
It's quite taken a while, but i'm finally happy with how my photography portfolio has turned out:
This rules. It really does feel like birding is bigger than it's ever been.
It's nice to see the community aspect really highlighted too. Some of the nicest interactions across the entire age spectrum of my community have been while out photographing birds.
Being the "bird guy" is now cool!
Birdwatching is cool now. Trust us.
In fact, 2026 is already seeing a flutter of games with birdwatching as their hook.
What makes the quaint activity so satisfying? We ask devs @secretplangames.bsky.social, @studioortica.bsky.social, and wildlife researcher @jabaddams.bsky.social to find out.
