For a reporter, your byline is everything. It’s your reputation. You carry it with you your entire career.

The first thing a potential source does is look you up, read your work. Are you fair? Nuanced? Do you understand the topic at hand?

My issue with this teacher was he kept touting personal opinion as fact. Then he had a huge thing for authority. I noped out of attending after he started getting barky at an older lady in class, and also took a guy classmate of mine aside for a "discussion" after they exchanged some words.

When you nail an A in a class you didn't give too many shits about cos the lecturer was some kind of ways, so you didn't go in for 10 sessions out of 12 and just ate the textbook instead. 😏

I looked at 200+ artist portfolios. Here's what I learned I went through a ton of artist portfolios, and I saw what a lot of them have to offer. Here's what I took away (and what I'll use!)

In working on the no gen AI directory, I've looked at a LOT of artist portfolios. Like, 350+ of them at this point. And I thought I'd compile what I was seeing done right, what surprised me (positively), and then what I was commonly seeing done wrong. Use this to tweak your own portfolio!

When I was a child, teachers sat the best girl students next to disruptive boy students. The girls were responsible for keeping the boys calm so that the teacher could continue teaching.

This sort of emotional regulation by proxy, using girls and women to calm boys and men, still happens.
