I have a new weird/horror flash piece out today in episode #733 @talestoterrify.bsky.social and read by LJ Segura.
The story is in inspired by the song "Panteón de Amor" by Orquesta Zodiac.

Yooo some sweet rarities listed here. Perhaps something you'd nerds would dig?
My short story collection that includes The Pill 💊 is on sale for $5! Support an independent press and also me, your favorite unemployed author.
GUIDELINES (Please read carefully) NOTE: I receive over 2,000 submissions per call. Only writers whose work is selected for the volume will receive a response. Thanks for understanding. This is a reprint fiction anthology, to be published later this year, 2026. I am seeking material first published last year, in 2025. To be clear, only weird fiction FIRST published in 2025 is eligible for inclusion in this volume. I will accept translated work as long as the first English-language publication was 2025. To repeat—this volume is for stories originally first published in 2025. We are not accepting previously unpublished stories, or stories published prior to 2025 in any form. Stories between 500 and 17,499 words are considered. Please check with your publisher if you are uncertain about the reprint rights to your work. Stories created with or assisted by Generative AI, in any way, are ineligible and will not be considered. Audio only stories are also ineligible, unless they also appeared as text. Writers can send in their work using the form below only. Do not e-mail your story. You can send up to three (3) stories, but each must be sent separately. Ensure your byline and e-mail address are on the manuscript. NOTE: The submission form does not like any strange characters—asterisks, parenthesis, hashtags, etc.—in the form fields. Please use text and numbers only. Deadline for all material is February 28. Payment is a small $25 U.S. honorarium and 1 copy each of the print and electronic editions.
Writers! Vol. 2 of 'The Best Weird Fiction of the Year' is open to your submissions. Please adhere to the guidelines.

In 2025, we published two short story collections, one unusually structured anthology, and ten zines! This year might be a little slower--gotta sustain energy and money--but you can still expect some wonderfully strange, grotesque, and unsettling fiction from us. Thanks for your ongoing support!
Excited to announce my new story "Learn How to Dance the Salsa!" now up at THE ACENTOS REVIEW
A salsero remembers the crazy Christmas night his passion for dancing began. #puertoricanheritagemonth

Luckily, my Omelas story, "Those who Stay and Use AI Responsibly," falls in neither category.
It's my birthday today. I've reacted an age that a much younger Karlo could not have conceived of being, and yet here we all are
If you want to celebrate, don't worry if you've not brought a gift - just do me a favor and:
1) read something new
2) let the author know how much you liked reading it
Happy Friday before going on holiday staycation, everybody! Hoping for some quiet time before the year ends to read and write
Anyway, everyone should check out my latest story:

A psychedelically colored picture of ghost pipe flowers, labeled "Coming Soon: the TropiWeirdest of my TropiWeird stories in Typebar Magazine"
With the shutdown, I had forgotten that it's Puerto Rican Heritage Month. Great month to sell a story about Puerto Rico in @typebarmagazine.bsky.social

You know, often my stories go out into the world and after their initial splash, I wonder if they're still being read by someone out there
But some days, someone tells you a story you wrote was the best thing they've ever read
That's a good day
A fraternity massacre births rewritten history, a supernatural entity, and a survivor obsessed with both. Two bog bodies ponder their star-crossed love. A chronically ill house consumes its unwilling, equally unwell tenant. A housewife discovers she's made of several million ticks—but only after they leak from her new nipple piercings. The stories in Gore Poetics explore intimacy and annihilation through visceral, wet prose. Samir Sirk Morató makes a name for themself as a master of strange, erotic, and transgressive horror in this stunning debut collection.
A little preview of how fucking cool Gore Poetics is going to be. Can't wait to publish this one next year.
Just watched The Pledge (2001) starring Jack Nicholson. Solid movie.

Just watched Shadow Dancer (2012) with Clive Owen and
Andrea Riseborough. Highly recommend it.
This was a great read. It reminded me of people who feel they unload on the page and that writing is therapeutic or healing. I am happy for them, but for me it's the opposite. Writing and rewriting is just a way to keep getting upset over the same things. Reliving rather than relieving.
Happy to give it a read whenever.
It’s pride month, which means you’re legally required to read my story about a gay widow who takes horrible tourists on a tour of a ghost coral reef and decides he’s really, truly had enough of these fuckers.

Surely the headline has a copy error and was meant to be read "take him OUT back".
One of the best queer books I’ve read this year. A great pride month read for anyone who wants to lose their bones!
some 'zines on the keyboard of a laptop
I'm printing and folding 'zines to give away at the Watch City Steampunk Festival.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
(which also stars my boy, Pedro Pascal 🇨🇱)
hey!!
I think we went to school together?
What’s your name?
