Was listening to NPR an hour ago and the presenter said omnipotence like Omni- potence. Not connecting the word correctly with NIP in the middle. It made me sad- yet another example of wasting my a useless English major by fussing about people who clearly do not know better. /tirade

Checked my dad’s sample ballot for May 5 election. The local school district has added a new 1.5 % earned income tax levy for operating expenses. Not a property tax levy, which they have been very successful in passing. Retiree with no earned income is okay with that.
Photo shows black and white cat sitting outside my window, clawing the screen to remind me it’s time for second dinner. Still can’t figure out how a senior street cat can hop into midair onto the outside window ledge with no help.
Tuxie just turned 18 and has been demonstrating how trap, neuter, release works since he was 3 months old. He still remembers that traps mean tuna, which explains why all the possums and groundhogs are safe from relocation. There’s no chance any varmint beats Tuxie to a potential tuna source.
AKA- please pander to me until I get an offer that meets my needs.
Counterpoint to a desperately hopeful assessment about future alliances among other regional powers that “will” come about relying on US and secretly Israel-neither country can be trusted as a partner. Trump and his coterie have a short attention span for anything that isn’t making them bank.
Loved the cruiser protesters especially today.
Not paid to protest? But that guy waving his “Liberal Scum” sign at me today simply insisted that there would be checks!
Enjoyed my local protest even more because it was protesting along a couple blocks of the little downtown, with excited seniors cruising by blowing their horns and waving their own signs out the windows. Had a lovely time waving and yelling hello to them.
Feel compelled to mention reading an anthropological study about the WV/KY coalfields where the historic context included the date of the first jar of mayonnaise arriving as a singular cultural achievement. That happened when the RR was completed in 1892, accompanied by the Chicago daily papers.
Also shows a distinct lack of confidence in Limited, Express, Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. But sure, it was diversified.
Nice way to keep up with Les Werner’s competition by holding substantial shares in other retailers.
Meanwhile my knees hurt!
Let me give you this week’s personal crisis. On my birthday, someone here posted a new Springsteen video. He did a cover version of the Pogues- A Rainy Night in Soho. Huh, not bad. After that really sunk in, I immediately checked to see if I needed a cane now.
A former colleague of mine has volunteered with zoo wolves for years. Such envy.
Hoping to see a boycott from performers. It takes a lot of individual actions to compel change.

If you live in an area with high levels, better get it fixed. It’s a long term impact concern. In the meantime, can you pop open a window or vent occasionally without air conditioning the entire outdoors?
Ironically I’m on the phone helping somebody enroll right now because they just lost their job due to federal $ recission.
Don’t just think it will be youth. My 89 yo father is a huge fan and thinks she’s a reincarnation of the dems his dad took him along to campaign for in the 40s and 50s.
Unless zombie John McCain staggers onto the floor of the Senate looking for brains, my ACA coverage will be going up 48% next year and at least one of my gig jobs will disappear.
Doing FOIA or fed repositories isn’t like going to a drivethru. They get to set reasonable standards to meet requests. Having random people insist on immediately seeing a trailer full of docs would mean nobody else gets to access their requested docs for days on end. Historians gotta pay bills too.
I just assumed they were trying to avoid drive by FOIA abusers who wanted to see the JFK stuff and find all the super secret files. Most archives ask researchers to provide some basic info in order to access the resources.
Photo of anti doge billboard installed on Route 161 in Columbus with old fashioned postcard design format showing Cuyahoga Valley national park.
Also in Columbus
Borrowed library ebook on Libby, download onto Kindle app and reading on iPhone SE.
Had a friend who lived in a Lustron. Imagine hearing mice scrabbling with their little claws inside metal walls. Cringe!
He named a public park after his dog and took it to all his public events, so guy’s definitely got a slip and slide kind of scale for deciding what’s appropriate in public service. Or more accurately- in ruling.
How about him going private fast to cash in on increased funding in the OBBB to ICE for private contractors who are squarely outside of the actual military and their justice system. Would that be cynical enough for you?
From last night’s Tony acceptance speech by Nicole Scherzinger. “[I’m] so proud to represent…I want to thank my mom, who had me at 18 and gave everything up for me. My dad [and] my sister … who instilled in me an unshakable faith. My ohana, my family, all 5,000 of you. You know that I love you.”
“Some people believe the institution is taking a moral stand and living up to its values,” the faculty member says. “But others say it is signaling it doesn’t care about research.”
Using the “some people” framework is a strange example of academic rigor. Sounds like somebody didn’t get funded.
I was thinking church van.
