Ok, so she also looks good on orange.
Old Man’s War Series. I binge authors , but also whatever’s Libby ready.
Finished this one a couple days ago. Favorite in series so far (it was more about characters than military drama) us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
A sandy tabby plopped on a flattened, pink, soft cat carrier on top of boxes.
She’s basically been here since I plopped it at 5 pm. She’s so weird.
I forgot to eat a substantial meal today. Thank goodness for hummuses.
People like this amaze me. We need them. It’s not just the talents, it’s the ability to interconnect.
I belatedly (only when she started the big swim plan) realized she was THAT Katie, pool director at my y, while she was in school
Her fur, skin & muscles & heart & lungs are in great shape, she’s got old lady skinny. She’d probably be chunkier without her catwheel. 🙄 She’s basically really young for a 15/16 yr old cat. & her kidneys are in check (knock on wood, pet cats.)
Haven’t put away the carrier from P’s vet trip yesterday & Maple has made it her bed-squashing it flat.
Good news: 🎃’s bloodwork is perfect, and they can schedule a dental. She’s down almost a lb since last yr :( but vet is happy w/her condition. It’s not malnutrition (more)
Ok, that was good. I’ve been lucky to hear Katie talk about the intersection of her art and swimming before (in a way, I can access her art process thru swimmers’ language) & while this focuses on the swim, it still touches her art.(She’s an amazing communicator.)
This is airing on MPT at 8:30 tonight! m.youtube.com/watch?v=AJA1...
It’s funny to know I’m a neighborhood go-to when cats are involved. I means, yes, my house number is a cat, but still. I’m not even the one running a part time foster & rescue.
Congrats on the accomplishment. I hope a spark comes across your path that renews you.
I’m pretty sure the cat thinks so (& half the couple wants it to be so.) Really friendly & at ease, so was raised by people.
A tan tabby struts.
The unexpected houseguest.
lol. A beautiful, friendly young light tan tabby just wandered into my neighbors’ house & made himself at home. They asked me if I knew if he belonged to anyone. They’ll take him to check for a chip tomorrow (half the house is rooting to keep him.) I lent a carrier, scoop & treats.
One of my oddities is that I’ve been handwashing my underwear for basically 3 decades. While traveling, too!But no way am going to skimp packing underwear.
It was a good concert & neat to see a violinist from the orchestra I’ve found myself watching a lot be a featured performer & read a little about her story.
& yes, @actualkatherine.bsky.social , I thought of the tour.
A poster featuring line portraits of Lincoln and Frederick Douglass and the text: HOPKINS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AMERICAN PORTRAITS SAT, APR 18, 2026 7:30PM SHRIVER HALL JED GAYLIN MUSIC DIRECTOR • PERFORMANCES BY HSO CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNERS • J KIMO WILLIAMS: DOUGLASS PORTRAIT (HSO COMMISSION, WORLD PREMIERE) • COPLAND: LINCOLN PORTRAIT GERRAD ALEX TAYLOR, NARRATION
One of the aspects of HSO concerts I like is how the audience is dressed anywhere from students in sweats to folks all fancied up. But sometimes you find yourself in a cartoon cat tee that reads ZOOMIES thanking the composer directly & you feel just a leetle ridiculous. (Low energy day.)
Pumpkin wasn’t the only one with gi issues today. But at least I didn’t get it all over the catwheel, floor and rug & no cleanup was required.
(Curious, but unrelated. I didn’t drink rainwater. Just unbalanced food choices.)
No sooner had I made an appt Monday for Pumpkin to get her toof looked at, she had a bout of explosive diarrhea. Everywhere.
And she’s acting fine now. Hungry. (I suspect the rainwater she snuck yesterday. Hopefully a one off.)
Yep. I can see the progression in this first series.
The Last Colony Ok, so I liked this one more than previous 2. More emotion. Othrs were a scifi military romp. This was that but veered more to the characters. Gonna keep going torpublishinggroup.com/the-last-col...
lol & sometimes it isn’t even the keys! Like when I had to borrow a ladder to get to the deck (in 4” heels) because my cats threw the u lock on the front door(since gone.)
I’ve been able to let in neighbors from 2k away by telling other neighbors who have keys to my house where to look. I like my little neighborhood.
I was sitting on the deck, reading. And now I have tree fuzz shrapnel in my bra.
Ok, just got really windy.
Shit. Didn’t realize how late. But 40 more pages to conclude, damnit.
I know you have good reason for redundant redundancy. It’s also why I have all the keys labelled (not really these) stinky & roof & barfer & etc in a weird hideyhole so I can liberate my neighbors. Used other “codes” for the keys of mine spread around.
